Rewatching New Who series 1

Some random stuff that popped into my head while watching the first series of the new Doctor Who over a week or so. Felt like writing it down. :) (Turned out to be a bit of a "Why I hate Rose"-post.)

101 - Rose:

What did the Doctor blow up that building for, exactly? The Nestene Consciousness that controlled all the plastic wasn't there, and the Doctor knew this. And there was no reason to to it to get rid of the dummies, since there's plastic all over the city.

How much time has passed since the time war in this episode? I wonder what the Doctor is feeling or thinking here. It can't have been long since he regenerated from the eighth Doctor, since he checks his appearance out in the mirror in the appartment and comments on his ears. Maybe the "aloof" attitude is just his way of coping, who knows.

It annoys me that when Rose finally enters the TARDIS, she just runs in without closing the doors! There's a monster out there about to kill her! She might not bother with it because they're just wooden doors to her, but... I guess it's just bad directing. It's just not apparent enough to the viewer that they close by themselves. You see a moment after that the doors are indeed closed, but... I just had a bit too much time to be annoyed before I saw that - huh - they closed by themselves.

104 - Aliens of London and 105 - World War Three:

"I'm the only person on planet earth who knows [aliens] exist." Sigh, typical Rose. Of cooourse the Doctor hasn't told anyone else about aliens in his long life. Noo, she's the only one on earth. Starting to dive into the pool of "things that annoy me about Rose Tyler" right here.

Not actually Who-related, but: When a camera stays too long on a person that is talking to another person off screen, you can just bet that the other person is nowhere to be seen when the camera moves. Because if you watch a lot of TV, you know that in a normal scene, the angle always shifts between the speaker and the one that listenes, even though the second part doesn't say anything. So when you are supposed to be suprised that the other person is gone, well, I ain't! So there!

"He's not my boyfriend, he's better than that, he's much more important--" Oh God, Rose, really? Right in front of your boyfriend? How do you say something like that to a person? I just can't understand why so many people loved Rose when she constantly spews out stuff like that to people she's supposed to care about.

The Doctor's "plan out". Rose tells him to "do it", even though she doesn't know what it is. Of course it involves that all of them dies, and she should guess that too, from what the Doctor is saying. And he gets this look in his face while he looks at her. And she keeps on telling him to do it, without knowing what it is. Really, is anyone like that? 19 years old, life infront of her. "Please just kill all of us, Doctor."

"I could save the world and lose you." Ugh, and the look that passes between them. This has to be where the Doctor/Rose-romance starts. And Rose actually smiles. And I don't like the way she smiles, it's kind of like a smirk. I have two big problems with the Doctor/Rose pairing. One: Rose only seems to care about herself when it comes to relationships. Two: The Doctor is friggin 900 years old! He has seen the turn of the universe, and has travelled with so many people before her. She's nineteen! What would he ever see in her. I get that he likes her, that's okay, but I just can't take their relationship seriously, when he almost consciders risking the world for her, and when she treats her mother and boyfriend like crap because she is sooo special and has to go travelling, you don't understaaaaand, mum. And then she never gives a good explanation for anything, she just has to. If I was her mother I would be really pissed. It's okay that she has fun elsewhere, but you could at least be a little grateful for your poor old mum. Oh, nevermind me, I'll just sit here and wonder if you'll ever come back.

And when Harriet commands him to "do it", he actually grins? Okay, so now it's suddenly really fun to maybe lose Rose?

Oh, and at the end, she just leaves again. And I don't know... it's just the way the mood is done. Jackie and Mickey is just standing there looking sad when the TARDIS leaves. How am I supposed to feel happy for Rose's fun-ride when she leaves everyone behind sad?

107 - The Long Game:

I wonder why people always call the ninth Doctor "moody". He might have been a bit angry and desperate in "Dalek", but who wouldn't when you are face to face with an enemy you thought you sacrificed your entire race to destroy. But otherwise, he's usually quite cheerful.

108 - Father's Day:

"My entire planet died, my whole family, do you think it never occured to me to go back and save them?" "But it's not like I changed history!" Wow, Rose, that wasn't a good enough reason for you to listen to him? His entire RACE gone, and he can't go back to save them? ......allright, I get it, she's only human, and I guess it's probably hard to imagine something on that scale when you've just saved your father. I'll give her that one.

Aww, the hug when Pete realizes who Rose is.

Little Mickey runs in and hugs Rose, and she says "You have to let go of me, sweetheart." Should have told the older version the same thing.

And this is where the paradox-thing is first explained in the new series I think, that two versions of the same person can't touch. It seems like they have completly disregarded this from series 5 and onwards.

"This is my fault." "No love, this is my fault. I'm your dad, it's my job for it to be my fault." Aww, Pete. :)

111 - Boom Town:

Jack Naturally assumes leadership when they find out about the Slitheen. And The Doctor just stands there looking at him. And I soo can see Eleven reacting the same way! ^^ And also, I just love how this part unfolds. It's so typical that two male characters start bickering over who's in charge, and it's a bit overused. So I loove the way the Doctor reacts in the end, first, "oi, who's in charge?" and then just "what he said, nice plan!" That way he still points out that he's the leader, but still acnowledges that Jack did a good job. Well done!

Oh God, and Rose is mad at Mickey for dating a new girl. How CAN you be so selfish and deluded? You leave with another man, and expect your boyfriend to be fine with this and just sit and wait? I think not? ...and everything Mickey says to her after this is so true.

113 - The parting of the ways:

Another Rose-tantrum when she's sent home by the Doctor. I can understand her at first actually, of course she's sad and angry that she can't help the Doctor, and that he's dying many years away from her. But then it just turns into whining about how she can never go back to a regular life again after this, that it was a "better life" etc. Now it's suddenly all about her again! It's like she's addicted to a drug or something! That's what it must look like to her mother at least. (...I have no idea why I keep seeing this through Jackies eyes.)

OH GOD, and then, after she finds out that she can open the TARDIS to tell her to go back, she tells Mickey that there's absolutly nothing left for her at home. I'm sorry, what? And she actually says this right to his face. "Yup, what we had was worth nothing to me. Who, my mother? Nah, not her either." I GET that she wants to go back to save the Doctor, but to say something like that? To actually insult him like that? Good lord, how does anyone like that girl.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 1

I went to see Breaking Dawn yesterday, and well... I liked the book better. The movie was okay.

A little background story before I begin:

I have a mixed relationship with Twilight actually. I'm not a huge fan, but I neither hate it or love it. I read all four books before I even knew about all the hate. I loved them while I read them, even cried a little bit at one point in the last book. But I can also see where all the hate comes from now, some years later. They aren't very... nuanced books. The characters do seem a little bit like cardboard cut-outs at times. The way they talk to each other makes me want to punch them in the face, because real people don't talk like that! But I loved the books while I read them, and that's why I want to see how the movies handle the books.

So:

My first reaction to the first part was "Jeez, is this all?" Nothing really happened. There were just plenty of very slow paced romance scenes. I might not have liked this because my preferred kind of romance in movies is the one that just fits into an action story, not the other way around. And like I said, how do they cope with talking to each other like that? At the part where Edward doesn't want to have sex with Bella, I badly wanted her to shout "Just fuck me already, you idiot!" Who talks like them? Every word they said were like "Bella, you are the world to me, I couldn't bare to live in a world with..." I would have liked them better if they actually sounded like real beings. It was all so... stiff.

Also, random detail that bugged me, in the wedding, the minister or whatever, used her nickname "Bella Swan". Her name is Isabella, isn't it? Wouldn't it be more fitting for a wedding to use her real name?

But the second part was better. Bit more action, more suspense.

I actually like Edward. But I wouldn't have if I hadn't read the books. That's a bit of a problem I have with the movies. They are based on a series of books that are written from Bella's point of view. You miss all her thoughts in the movies, and that makes her character seem so flat! And it's the same thing with Edward. The book is never from his point of view, but still, I liked him better in the book. There was a part in the third book (I think) where Bella, Jacob and Edward stays in a tent, and Bella is so cold that Jacob has to lay next to her to warm her up. And poor Edward can hear all the things that Jacob is thinking. I don't remember if they included that in the film, but this one had something similar.

Also, Seth. Adored him in the books, liked him in the movie as well!

Jacob's imprinting was handled well I think. It could have easily have become really awkward, since it's an almost grown man finding his soulmate in a baby, but I liked that they showed how she would become as a woman. (Also, 3D-animated girl and baby... Didn't look quite real.)

I liked where the movie ended. Might me a cliché to zoom into a persons closed eyes like that, because you know the music is going to go "BOOM!" and then her eyes will open. But I think it worked. Cool twist to leave us with, and a nice cliffhanger.

DOCTOR WHO: The Wedding of River Song

And that's the end of series 6. I liked it. But there were some parts that... I don't know, irked me. If that's a word. Actually, I loved the entire episode, except maybe the end. Or-- I'm not sure. Maybe I'll know by the time I'm done writing this.

I loved the style of this episode, it looked totally bonkers, in perfect Doctor Who style. I remember when I watched Night Terrors that I thought that it didn't feel or look like a typical DW episode. This one did! Loved the transition from the slow "previously on", to "WTF is going on!" with all the flying cars and the trains. Also, I want the soundtrack for series 6 sooo bad right now! The music that plays during the opening scenes is amazing!

Also, badass Doctor during his travels at the beginning:

"Just when you thought it couldn't get worse... you looked up, and saw the face of the devil himself. ...hello, Dalek."

And the way he just slams the eyestalk on the counter afterwards, woo. That thing must be heavier than it looks by the way, judging by the sound it made.

And oh my, the episode was flowing over with guest stars and references to the past. The actor that played Charles Dickens! Winston Churchill! Silurian! Mentions of both Rose and Jack! And the Brigadier!

Loved Matt with longer hair, though I wish that they hadn't made it look that greasy. His beard looks strange though. All fuzzy. Couldn't they have made that look a bit better too? But anyway, the entire main cast looked gorgeous in this episode, Karen Gillan in particular.

And then there was the end. It was an okay explanation, that the Teselecta was the solution in the end. But I have to admit I felt a teensy weensy bit cheated. It was a sollution I didn't see coming, but still, I'm not sure if I liked it. I think it was the fact that the Doctor started to regenerate that made me think that it had to be some version of the Doctor that was on that beach, ganger or real one. I know many people found it strange that the Teselecta could "regenerate", but come on, if it could mimick a motorcycle in Lets kill Hitler, it could mimick some lights too.

But still, there was a lot of stuff with the robot Doctor that anoyed me. If that many people pilot it, how could it act exactly like the Doctor? Unless he piloted it alone, I might think that makes more sense. And it grew a beard and got knocked out by a tranquilizer! That might just be acting too, but how would he know what reaction would be the right one when Amy aimed at him? I know this is just nitpicking, but it's usually the details that make it good. My point is that all the actions the Doctor do after he enters the robot is just... acting?

That kiss between River and the Doctor though, I don't care that it was the robot, or that she really couldn't love him this much yet, excuse me while I go and drool! I love River so, so much. I'm not a big fan of the Doctor falling in love with his companions, but I can make an exception for River. And I loved that music playing in the background while they kissed just as much.

Also,

Rory: I'm not sure if I completly understand.
Amy: Umm, we got married and had a kid and that's her.
Rory: Okay.

Rory Williams, you precious human being! :D

But actually, there was something about this episode that I can honestly say that I hated. Right after we find out that he survived, the Doctor gets yet ANOTHER "death sentence". "Fall of the eleventh". Really? Right away? Can't we just for once have a season that isn't about the Doctor's impending death! It was annoying enough that Ten had it hanging over him for several episodes that he was going to die. Do we have to go another season and constantly hear bout the fact that he is doomed? Is this a sign that season 7 will be Matt's last? *Deep, deep sigh.*

And what does it really mean, "It's still waiting for you, the fields of Trenzelor, and the question, the question that must never be answered." The question "Doctor who?" is waiting for him? But plenty of people have asked that one in the past. Are they trying to say that he will die if he answers it? I really hope they do not explain too much about the background of his name at all. I don't even want to know why his name is a secret. It will remove the mystery. I like small hints, but nothing more than that. If they reveal his name, the entire show will have to be renamed.

I think my final opinion of series 7 is that I think the episodes worked better separate than as a whole. I loved the main plot of series 7 when it started, but I'm not quiiiite satisfied with the way it was resolved.

DOCTOR WHO: The God Complex

I liked this better than last week's episode, so this calls for some writing! I'll just list some random thoughts I had.

I liked the Doctor much better this week. He made a huge mistake, but this didn't sit as bad with me as what he did last week. The way he raged after losing Rita was a really powerful moment.

"You have lived so long even your name is lost." Was the minotaur talking about the Doctor here too? It fit really well.

The music in this episode was really cool as well. there was something different about it, more "whimsical" and fun at places. Love!

I wasn't expecting the goodbye! If there was a spoiler about it, I missed it. I'm so glad my family had left the room to go to bed before the end of the episode, because I cried like a mad person. This will probably not be the last they see of eachother though. I know Karen will be back next season, but I guess that's only for a couple of episodes. I read somewhere that Moffat had confirmed that there will be a new companion for season 7.

But, I loved the ending. I love Amy and Rory very much, but I don't want Eleven to get stuck on the same track, to say it that way. Ten changed companions two-three times, and I feel like Eleven has to do the same at some point. So, it's kind of good to see Amy and Rory go off to live their life. And I'm glad Amy and the Doctor's goodbye was sort of a happy one. I loved-loved-loved their hug at the end. Reminded me so much of the end of The Beast Below. The way she stroked his hair and kissed his forehead, and the way he sort of buried his head in her shoulder. Sigh. I could go on forever about why I don't like Ten that much anymore, but one of the reasons was that everything became so angsty in the end. His goodbyes were usually never voluntary. This time it was Eleven's choice, to give up while his friends were still all right.

Also, I loved the bit with the car. Loved the way the Doctor changed his voice to say "This is my favorite car"! I've also been reading fanfiction on a livejournal where there was a person recuesting fanfiction with Rory's car (the Mini) all the time, and he/she gained the nickname "Persistant Rory's Car Anon". I guess they will be really happy after this episode! ;D

DOCTOR WHO: Let's kill Hitler!

Wow, Doctor Who is reaching new heights of "unexpected"! But I think I liked it. I do love the story of River and the Doctor!

I had read a lot of speculation before watching the episode, that the new character Mels in fact was River/Melody. I actually didn't believe it, but wow, it really was her! And now it has been confirmed once and for all that the regenerating little girl was River, and that she is the one that kills the Doctor that day on the beach. I wasn't really on board with that theory either, but that's okay, I like not expecting what's going to happen!

Oh, and Matt managed to play the Doctor as a really old man again. It's incredible how he does it! When he stood leaned up against the TARDIS talking about how he danced with everyone at Amy and Rory's wedding. I love it, I love it, I love it. I feel like I'm overusing the word "love" when I talk about favorite DW-episodes, but it can't be helped!

But, there were some parts about Mels/River/Melody that I didn't get. Why was she living in Leadworth and growing up at the same time as Amy and Rory, was she just waiting for the Doctor to reappear? And why did she want to go and kill Hitler at all, was that just for fun? Aand why did she try to poison the Doctor when she had already killed him as a little girl? Moffat writes incredibly touching, exiting and action packed episodes, but his episodes are also the ones that confuses me the most.

And it's confirmed, Time Lords can change skintone. I don't mind! I'm not really sure if I want the Doctor to be black some day, but as long as he doesn't regenerate as a female, fine by me! It's just that the Doctor has been a strange pale guy for such a long time, that's kind of his image. It would just be so awkward if he suddenly changed gender. Would we suddenly have to call him "she"? No thanks, no thanks and no thanks with sugar on top.

As Time Lords usually do, River also goes a bit "doolally" after her regeneration, checking out all the new aspects of her body. She also comments on the most recognizable aspects of her actress' appearance, like her hair (and curves). I love it!

And I loved all the scenes between River and the Doctor. Even the ones where she was Mels. This is River at the very start of her life as River Song. Baby River sort of! I adore their flirting, and the awkward way the doctor reacts most of the time. And the way he has to sort of "rearrange" himself after she pushes him up to the desk, pure gold. ;) Also; the little comforting pat at the shoulder Rory gives him! I keep watching this part over and over again.

"Is anybody else finding today just a bit difficult?"

Oh, and he was the first to say spoilers! Sort of. They both influence the other's life. Moffat is a bit too fond of these kind of scenarioes I think. Paradoxes. She's only called Melody because she's already called Melody, the Doctor only gets out of the Pandorica because he's already out, etc. It's okay if they use that solution once or twice, but it gets a bit too easy after a while. Like, where does the idea come from originally?

And Hitler ended up in the cupboard, and stayed there for the rest of the episode. :P

I loved the Doctor's new coat! I thought he would wear it because they were going to 1930's Berlin, it sort of fits the style. But he had the coat before they knew they were going to that period, so he must just have felt like trying a new look. Oh well, no problem for me. I don't think he's going to be wearing it full time though, in the trailers it comes and goes. But it's strange that Amy or Rory didn't comment on it.

And there's a funny sequence where River tries to shoot the Doctor, but he one-up's her every time. This kind of reminded me of "Boom Town" in series 1, where the Slitheen woman tries to poison the Doctor, but he stops her every time. River ends up giving him a little kiss, and my shipper heart went "Awwwww".

But River had an agenda behind the kiss, and the Doctor gets poisoned. And wow, Matt does an exceptional job of playing hurt and dying! But I didn't quite understand that voice interface-part. I guess he needed it to tell him how he was doing. But how did the interface-Amelia suddenly mention "Fish fingers and custard", when it wasn't really Amelia? Was that the TARDIS talking through her?

And bwahaharr, I didn't realize it at first, but when Amy and Rory pulls up on the motorbike, Rory get's a bit annoyed at Amy, and says "Clues? What clues?" in a scottish accent! Love it! I didn't notice untill I read it in another review. I'm liking Rory more and more for each episode, that man is wonderful. And also, another point I didn't think of before that review, look at how the Doctor handles his upcoming death! "Could have used a bit more of that kind of positive thinking when 10 kicked it. Just sayin'." Amen, amen.

And the Doctor is close to death, trying to save Amy and Rory, and he tries desperatly to get to the TARDIS, and ooh, that backwards-music from "The Big Bang" plays. It's almost eerily beautiful, I got chills. And he begs for River to save them for him. And she does, because the TARDIS shows her how to do the piloting, and wow. I wonder how much of this is planned from the beginning. Because River mentions that she learned how to fly the TARDIS from "the very best" in Time of Angels, and that the Doctor was busy that day. Wow, what a callback!

And then he dies from the poison, lying on the steps. But I wonder, right before he dies, what does he say to her? He wispers something to River, and asks her to find River Song and tell it to her. From River's answer ("I'm sure she knows"), it would be most likely that he said "I love you". But this could also be the moment when he tells her his name. Hm, because when I first saw Silence in gthe Library, I actually thought that the moment where he would/could tell her, was at the moment of his death, and this is it, right? God knows.

And then River gives up her remaining regenerations to save the Doctor, when she realizes that the woman he kept talking about was her. Oh dear, I love the two of them. It's such a wonderful scene where her hands start to glow, and she places them on the sides of his face and he wakes up again. And then she wakes up in a hospital, having lost her ability to regenerate again. And when the team leaves her, we see a familiar blue book with a red ribbon lying next to her. Aw, there were some tears.

Now I'm looking forward to the next episode. Why isn't it saturday yet??

Please tell me you know who I am (unfinished)

I decided to watch Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead again! But this time I wanted to try watching everything from River's point of view. Like all this happens after the eleventh Doctor for her. (As it does, from her point of view, but not from ours or the Doctor's.) It's really sad to think that this really is her last adventure with the Doctor.

This following text is somewhat of a mix of my random thoughts about the episode, a sort of bad transcript, and me trying to make sense of how this must have looked from River's perspective in what almost sounds like literature. Yes, I love writing long texts about useless subjects. ;)

At this point she has gotten her life back on track somehow, is out of jail, and has become a professor.

When she first meets the tenth Doctor in the library, she greets him with her trademark "Hello Sweetie." She obviously believes he knows her. Every time she has called for him, he has always known her. So of course, why should this time be any different? He answers "Get out!", and tries to shove them all out of there. She just ignores him (as usual). She's used to bantering with him, I guess she just thinks he's in a bad mood.

He keeps on appearing to not know her, "tell me you're not archeologists". She appears to take this as sarcasm, and plays along, introducing herself and shaking his hand. "River Song, archeologist." They keep talking, everything she says can be taken both ways I think. For a new viewer she doesn't know him, for a returning viewer, she knows him, just talking a bit neutrally.

Then she calls him "pretty boy", telling him to come with her. This is a new line for her, she's never called the older Doctor anthing like this as far as we've seen in the show. But since this is in the future, their relationship has probably evolved. :) He doesn't react to this untill Donna points it out.

Aw, and then she thanks him for coming when she calls, as usual. He seems confused, and she comments, a bit exasperated, "You're doing a great job of acting like you don't know me." And then she tries to compare journals. I guess the future doctor does this with her, like the 1109-year-old-Doctor does in The Impossible Astronaut. "Hmm, going by your face, I'd say it's early days for you, yeah?" I think she meets Ten some time before this, after this for him. I just think of it as an unwritten story in Moffat's head somewhere.

Then she asks him if they have done "Crash of the Bysanthium" yet. That means that she's not sure which number in line he is, since she does that one with Eleven. (It could also be an error in the later writing of course) She tries mentioning more adventures, but he just stares blankly at her. This seems to sink in with her after a couple of more tries. She stares back, and apparently sees something in his eyes. "Look at you, you're young!" And of course, he is, to her, comparing with the other versions she knows. She touches his face. "You're younger than I've ever seen you!" He looks at her confused and answers "...You've seen me before, then...?"

And this is where it dawns on her. "Doctor... please tell me you know who I am." Oh, my heart breaks a little bit for her. Especially after what she says to Rory in The Impossible Astronaut:

When I first met the Doctor, a long, long time ago... he knew all about me. Think about that. Impressionable young girl, and suddenly this man just drops out of the sky, he's clever and mad and wonderful and knows every last thing about her. Imagine what that does to a girl. Trouble is, it's all back to front. My past is his future. We're travelling in opposite directions. Every time we meet, I know him more, he knows me less. I live for the days when I see him. But I know that every time I do, he'll be one step further away. And the day is coming, when I'll look into that man's eyes... my Doctor... and he won't have the faintest idea who I am. And I think it's going to kill me.

(I've written about this before, but just have to say it again, she doesn't mean literally kill here, how would she know?)

Oh, I feel for her. Finally, this wonderful, mad man she's known most of her life, doesn't recognize her. What a shock it must be to be at this point. (Amazing acting by Alex)

Oh god, the music. my heart. "he came when I called as he always does. But not... MY Doctor." I wonder who her doctor really is. I picture eleven when she says that. and cried a little. ohgodthatmusicinthebackground.

Why Eleven is my favorite Doctor

Here are some of my thoughts about why I love Matt Smith's portrayal of the Doctor so much. I have also found some great quotes that I agree with from other fans from different places. (This entry is probably going to be edited a lot, I keep finding new stuff to add!)

I completely loved Ten (and he's still my favorite), so I was really geared up to dislike Eleven...but you just can't. He had me at fish sticks and custard, and I like him more and more the more I see him. [source]

Eleven had me at fish custard as well! You lovable crazy person you!

Comparing with Ten
I still love Ten, I really do, but Matt is my Doctor now. I was really in love with Ten for a while, but that was before I saw season 5. I didn't realize what I was missing with Ten before I saw Eleven. But Ten did have some aspects I wish Eleven could show a bit more of too. Ten was a bit more "larger than life" sometimes, but I guess Eleven is working on it. He was bad ass in A Good Man Goes to War!

My problem with Ten in the end was that he was a bit too... cool. Not alien enough. The whole "ladykiller"-bit. And he was so intense, all the time! In the beginning of his run, I really liked it, but after a while it was like he just didn't stop to breathe. It became a bit ridiculous towards the end, but I guess that was the scripts' fault. And I really, really couldn't see any signs of his old age.

This interviewer manages to put one of my thoughts into words. Tennant was too much of a pretty-boy and a "possible boyfriend". Matt is really handsome as well, but still manages to be incredibly strange. I realized after having seen all the newer series that this is the way I want the Doctor to be. If I had never seen the eleventh Doctor I would probably still have been happy with the way the tenth Doctor was. (And if Ten had gotten a better exit...)

Also, despite all my love for David Tennant, Matt Smith is more...Doctor-y.

This is also a quick, good way of saying it. I love that his alien-ness showes through. All of his little eccentricities and quirks makes him a much better Doctor in my eyes.

Matt Smith is by now firmly in the role (well, he was from the off). Although I've covered it previously and it's not to go into here, as wonderful as David Tennant / the Russell T. Davies era was, I didn't feel it was perfect, and love the Smith era of 'Doctor Who' infinitely more. I feel a real bond with the Doctor that I haven't felt for many years, with his quirkiness, his deep (sometimes dark side) one minute, and his almost child-like qualities the next. [source]

Agree, agree. I really feel kind of a bond with this take on the character as well.

The social awkwardness
I know he's been traveling around earth for many years, but I love how Eleven is a bit rubbish at acting like a normal person. The cheek-kissing in The Lodger was a bit... umm, but I love all the other stuff. Like not managing to keep timelines straight in his head, like wearing tweed and a bowtie, like invading people's personal space on a regular basis...

The grandpa that shines through the hyper nine year old
Even though Matt Smith is only 28, sometimes he manages to act like an old man. The most recent example I can think of is when the gang has just exited the TARDIS in the episode The Rebel Flesh. The way he holds himself and the way he delivers the line "A monastery, 13th century." makes him seem really old for a moment.

Also, I love the little fatherly moments he has with Amy ("Hey, I'm okay, I'm always okay.") and his fashion sense. ^^

Matt plays this beautifully too. In seconds he can go between being a toddler boy who thinks bowties and fezzes are cool and then being the most ancient man with all his battle scars and wounds showing through. sometimes he's both at the same time and that is so him.

I love this. "Brand new and ancient at the same time". ^^

I think Matt looks absolutely fantastic, he really does. He seems to have all the right things that are needed. He has the gravitas and the weight to represent someone who is 900 plus years old but also he's got those quirks about him that would lend itself to the flight of fancy that the Doctor has. And he just looks fantastic, the hair everything! I'm really excited! [Freema Agyeman]

Also when people get angry and just completely dismiss Matt Smith for ‘killing’ David Tennant, when I’m like, ‘Well if regeneration means killing, DAVID TENNANT KILLED MY CHILDHOOD HERO, HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?’ I mean, come on guys, can’t we just LOVE all the Doctors, Matt Smith is an amazing actor, he is the first Doctor for a while where you can really tell he is 909 years old. And they really were all wonderful actors, even Paul McGann who only got a TV Movie, he was amazing, I want Moffat to bring him back one day, he was a wonderful Doctor. [source]

Some fans are rubbish! (RTD too, "some new man sauntering away" my ass) I like people that try to not favorize one version of the Doctor over another, but I can't help it myself. I haven't seen this opinion here in that many places.

Matt Smith in general
I love the man. His voice, his face, the incredibly strange (and cool) way he dresses, the way he acts in interviews, his weird choices in roles (Christopher and his kind, Womb)... Ah. ^^

Chameleon Circuit: Still Got Legs review!

I've heard the new album from the band called Chameleon Circuit, and I loved it! Even more than I expected to! It's great that the music is all about Doctor Who, but the music itself was amazing! It helps that I know exactly what the background story of the songs are, but they are amazing as standalone pieces as well. I want to write a little about what I thought about the songs and the album. I have no clue about music other than my own enjoyment of it, so this will be a very amateurish review. No professionalism to be found here! :)

I think my favorite songs of the album are Kiss the Girl, The Sound of Drums, The Silence and the end of all Things, Mr. Pond and Big Bang Two. Especially Mr. Pond, Kiss the Girl and Big Bang Two are the ones I sing the most loudly to in my car! :D

01 - The Subwave Signal

This one is a short, introduction-type track. Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel... :P

02 - Regenerate me

Ten personas I’ve walked the Earth
Sole protector of the human race
You will know me by the big blue box
But you may never know my face

This was a really great standalone song! The band seems to like the combination of "exterminate/regenerate". Not sure why, but I got chills at the line "You will know me by the big blue box". My choice of words to doodle at a piece of paper one time I was really bored later that day.

03 - Nightmares

I've ended lies and ended worlds, I guess I've done it all.
Fire and ice and rage inside, how long 'til I fall?

This reminds me of another song I've heard, but I can't remember which... This was a nice, calm song, but not much to comment on here I think.

04 - Travelling Man

Even if he has to die five hundred and seven times
The Traveling man will save the day

Ooo, it trails seamlessly over from the last track! This was where I realized that almost all of the songs on the album does this. Really cool! This song seems to be about the Doctor through the eyes of others. Also, I loved the lyrics. For example this part, I realized after a while that the number here is the number of regeneration the Doctor (jokingly?) mentions in "The Death of the Doctor".

Everybody knows that everybody dies
But nobody knows it like him
I think all the lights would drain out of the skies
If he ever gave up trying

They also have included song versions of some of Reinette's dialogue from "The Girl in the Fireplace" and River's final dialouge from "Forest of the Dead". Gaah, I loved it. I always get really emotional about the start/end of River and the Doctor's relationship, and this didn't change anything! Gah...

05 - Everything is ending

You're human, you're Amy
This is my fairytale

This was one I liked more because of the story than the actual song, but it was still a nice song. It actually sounded like something from Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog! I don't know who the female singer is, but her singing style reminded me of Felicia Day. This is a duet between Amy and the Doctor, mostly about what happened at the end of "Flesh and Stone". I loved the part I added here. So fitting for Amy.

06 - Mr. Pond

I know you save the universe,
and she paints you in perfect light,
and though I may be just a nurse,
The doctor isn’t always right.

The lyrics are so clever! This was my first favorite, and one of those really good ones. It is sung from Rory's point of view at the start of season 5, and is about the problems he has with the Doctor and Amy's fascination with him. Not sure if I have a particular point about this one, just that it was glued to my brain an entire day at work. I love both the melody and the lyrics. And the base that goes along with what "Rory" is singing. "Cause I wanna be, Mr. Pond, and there's so many things that could go wrong"...

07 - Kiss the Girl

She’s not my girlfriend
She’s just a friend who’s a girl
She’s my colleague, she’s my best mate
And she rocks my world

This was also one of the first songs I really noticed, right after Mr. Pond. I usually have to listen to an album two-three-times before I actually remember what I've been listening to, and notice which I liked. Kiss the girl struck me at once. (Little Mermaid associations) I just love this part I added here. It's so damn catchy! Also, "Monkies, monkies, monkies, monkies..." ^^ "But what about the monkies? / Oh not again, not when the world's about to burn, just for God's sake, kiss the girl."

08 - Knock Four Times

It is returning through the dark,
Doctor, you have met your mum
Your song is ending, so don't cry,
When you hear him knock four times.

This one is really clever when you have listened to the entire album. It's also a really short track where they only sing about something returning, and that "when you hear him knock four times". Love the forshadowing here, just like in the show! I wonder if "mum" is the correct word there. I thought it was "mark" or something, but I just can't make out the words! Mum sounds strange, there was speculation that the woman in The End of Time was his mother, but he hasn't met her yet in this song.

09 - Teenage Rebel

I used to be old but now I feel young
‘Cause I was a boy when I learned how to run

This one is about the Doctor's different regenerations. Great song about Doctor Who, and a great song! It sounds really professional! (no offence, guys! I'm not calling you amateurs! ;)) But I don't get the title! It makes the song sound a bit... cheap. Teenage pop-ish. :P Teenage Rebel? Meh. Doesn't quite work for me.

10 - Big Bang Two

Oh my God what will they do
Seems impossible to get through,
My mind is blown I bet yours is too,
Well I guess this is Doctor Who.

This was also one of the ones I started singing to very quickly. This part here is a really perfect description of Moffat's Doctor Who. Haha, I love Charlie! ^^ Had to listen to it a couple of times before I remembered that part by heart though!

11 - Eleven

This was a short track that was a bit rocked up version of Murray Gold's I am the Doctor. Really cool! And bad ass.

12 - The Sound of Drums

Each Time Lord child
Approaches the eye
Forced to behold the vortex
To be inspired or run
But as I gazed into the vastness of time
I heard the sound of drums

This one is told from the Master's perspective, and is a cover of a song by another band playing songs about Doctor who called Quantum Locked. I liked this song more and more each time I listened to it! At first I didn't pay too much attention, but it sounded great. Then I listened more to the melody, and then started thinking about what he were singing about. I really get chills at some parts. Especially this first quote here. I couldn't quite make out the first two lines at first, but when I did it made a bit more sense. I keep hitting rewind to listen to that part again. Even in my car.

Now I lay in your arms
Mortally wounded in your care
I’ll leave you here forever
Last of the Time Lords once again

And this part here, oh my. I think I feel tears forming in my eyes at the "Last of the Time Lords once again." The only part I didn't quite like with the song is where the singer (Charlie?) that "plays" the Doctor starts yelling "regeneraaaaate!" I don't know, it sounded a bit weird to me. Not natural maybe?

13 - Silence and the End of All Things

Amelia, the girl who waited,
No longer will you wait for me.

I like this more for the Doctor Who stuff, but this has some amazing musical parts. I didn't really notice this song before a couple of turns. (I blame my crappy car stereo!) The first part of this that really struck me was the part where the Doctor speaks/sings to Amelia "In your dreams I'll still be there with all the days that never came." Oh lordy. My heart! Oh dear, my heart...

But, one amazing part in this song was the clever transition to (what I think is) "Little Amy" from the season 5 soundtrack. The line goes something like "...inside the box the bluest blue." And the oo-sound in blue just trails seamlessly into the ooooo-humming of the piece from the soundtrack. I don't know how the copyright works with stuff like this, but oh my God if that didn't make me rewind the song a bit back and listen to that part over again. So beautiful!

Also, I love the irony in the fact that the "You know I hate repeats"-line is repeated!

14 - The Doctor is Dying

I dooooon't want to goooooo.

This one repeats the eighth track, Knock four times (really clever continuity!) and then tells the story of Tenth Doctor's "death". Another use of the word "regenerate"! It also keeps repeating Ten's last line "I don't want to go", which I loathed beyond reason. Though I can't help singing along, damn you, CC. ;)

15 - Still not Ginger

Legs! Still got legs,
And there's life in this old horse yet,
And I know there's going to be an awful lot of running to do.

This starts with the Doctor's first moments in new bodies, Ten and Eleven respectivly. Really cute and fun piece after a lot of a bit of dark songs. Love the transition from death in the previous track to life in this one. And I love the way the title of the album appears in the beginning here, "Legs, still got legs." And I don't know if it's just my mind making things up, but I like the "That's all folks" way the line is sung. :)

Noen kjenner mitt navn er en storslagen historisk roman som spenner over tre kontinenter og to århundrer. Men denne prisbelønte boken er fremfor alt en hjerteskjærende beretning om livet til Aminata Diallo, en elleve år gammel jente som blir bortført fra sin landsby i Vest-Afrika og tvunget om bord i et slaveskip med kurs for South Carolina. Etter å ha jobbet på en indigoplantasje i mange år blir hun videresolgt, men klarer å flykte fra sin eier i New York, der hun havner midt i den amerikanske uavhengighetskrigen mot britene.

Trengte litt lesestoff på tur til Roma, så jeg plukka ut denne boka her fra hylla på kiosken på Rygge flyplass. Jeg leser ganske fort, så hadde lest ut denne etter en to-tre dager. Jeg elsker denne typen romaner. Selv om handlingen er fiktiv, er den basert på virkelige hendelser, så man får et intrykk av hvordan slavene hadde det på den tiden.

Sånn sett er det ikke noe voldsomt plot i denne boka, men man følger Aminata igjennom livet, fra 11 år til gammel dame. Men jeg ble i alle fall veldig revet med! Ble også veldig opphengt i hvordan det var mulig for mennesker å tro at andre mennesker kan være mindre verdt bare fordi de har en annen hudfarge... folk.

Aminata er i alle fall en veldig engasjerende hovedperson. Veldig smart, ressurssterk og egen. Noen steder var det kanskje litt for lettvint at folk falt så lett for henne, at hun får lært seg å lese og så videre. Men det gjør i alle fall boka mer interessant!

Jeg har hatt litt sansen for historiske romaner i det siste, har gått litt lei av krim og fantasy. Men allikevel er det litt slitsomt at jeg nesten sitter og venter på at det skal dukke opp en tortur- eller voldtektsscene. :P De er det mange av i denne typen bøker. Heldigvis var de ikke så voldsomme i akkurat denne boka! Jeg har lest noen bøker av Wilbur Smith, og han er drøy. Skal ikke nevne eksempler, men han putter inn ganske grafiske beskrivelser av både tortur og voldtekt. Jeg vet det var mye sånt i gamle dager, og jeg tåler en del, men det har hendt jeg har skumma over eller spola forbi noe av det verste. Jeg tar såntno litt for mye innpå meg.

Men uansett: Jeg anbefaler denne boka på det sterkeste. :) Hadde trøbbel med å legge den fra meg.

Torchwood (Doctor? Timeline!)

So, there's a spin-off of Doctor Who called Torchwood. It has captain Jack Harkness as the main character, and is kind of like Doctor Who, but with less time travel and more aliens. It is a bit more mature than Doctor Who, aiming for an older audience.

It took me some time to warm up to the "no Doctor"-aspect, and in the beginning I only watched for those little hints to the fact that the Doctor exists. But after a while I started looking at it as it's own thing, and it was then that I became a fan. I went back to watch the first episode again a little while ago, and that introduction scene is just bad ass. That score in the background is amazing! And the way they just look tough and dressed in black as they walk to the crime scene... I like.

But! I still have a bit of an issue with the show, and that is that I often keep thinking "Where the hell is the Doctor!?" For example when some particularly giant threat appears, that he really should have noticed. And I have a bit of trouble keeping the timelines straight... I think I'll write it down to find a system (OBS! Spoilers follow!):

So, Jack meets up with the Doctor four times:

First when he's a time agent, and he meets the ninth Doctor. He then dies, gets braught back to life by Rose/The Bad Wolf, turns immortal, and gets left behind in the future. He then tries to use the vortex manipulator to get back, ends up waaay further back than he intended (I don't remember when), and at some point he joins up with Torchwood. He then lives maaany years untill it's our time again.

And then, the second time, the Doctor is in his 10th incarnation. This takes place at the end of Torchwood's series 1, and at the end of Doctor Who series 3. And then it's the year that never happened, and things are back to normal.

And then I guess that their third meeting during "The Stolen Earth" takes place at the end of Torchwood series 2. It's never really indicated in Torchwood that this ever happened, but this is the one that makes the most sense, since Tosh and Owen are gone, but Ianto's still there.

And then "Children of Earth" happens, Torchwood series 3. I would guess that this takes place at the same time as the series 4 specials, the tenth Doctor's last appearances. And then Jack meets the 10th Doctor one last time in a bar after COE, when he has run away from the others. Where was the Doctor during those 5 days? I guess... maybe on Mars? but was he there for that long? Did he have to ignore it because it was a fixed event?

And now I wonder... where do the timelines meet up now? If Jack were to meet the 11th Doctor, would the seasons match up..? But I guess that doesn't make sense, since the Doctor travels in time. I guess the whole of season 5 and 6 could have happened before Torchwood's Miracle Day happens.

I would really like to have Jack meeting the eleventh Doctor! But then they would also have some major issues when they meet, I guess. But I would love to see some more lighthearted scenes between them too though! Flirty Jack and uncomfortable Doctor!

Matt Smith has been confirmed as the Doctor for another season!

Yes! I guess I saw it coming, but I'm really happy anyway! Matt is my favorite Doctor, and I want him to do at least as many episodes as David did. But still, I'm hoping for some changes:

I do like Amy and Rory a lot, but I kind of feel like their time is up after season 6. At least as the main companions. But It would be nice if they could pop up in one episode or two.

It could be an idea that a young River could be the new main companion. But her story is so complicated, so maybe it's smarter to go for someone new. I do like River, but I'm not sure if that's the way to go. And I know a lot of fans of the show dislike her.

DOCTOR WHO: A Good Man Goes to War

When you began, all those years ago, sailing off to see the universe, did you ever think you'd become this? The man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name.

A Good Man Goes to War was amazing, but confusing. Here are some random thoughts I had about the episode:

The writers snuck in a lot of "scares" about the identity of the baby's father. I didn't quite like the first one. I didn't like it the last time Amy talked about Rory with a perfect description of the Doctor either. Here's what she's saying:

I wish I could tell you that you'll be loved. That you'll be safe and cared for and protected. But this isn't the time for lies. What you are going to be, Melody, is very, very brave. But not as brave as they'll have to be. Because there's someone coming. I don't know where he is, or what he's doing. Trust me, he's on his way. There's the man who's never going to let us down. And not even an army can get in the way. He's the last of his kind. He looks young, but he's lived for hundreds and hundreds of years. And wherever they take you, Melody, however scared you are, I promise you, you will never be alone. Because this man is your father. He has a name, but the people of our world know him better as the Last Centurion.

This fits for the Doctor, but it just sounds forced when it's supposed to be about Rory. "Last of his kind" just sounds like a weird way to describe Rory's "used to be a centurion in a universe that has been rebooted"-status. Also, "looks young, but he's lived for hundreds and hundreds of years" is also a really weird line. And, "the people of our world know him better as the Last Centurion". Does anyone really know Rory by this name other than the TARDIS crew...? Maybe he has become famous during their "war-planning".

But I loved the other part, where they were discussing the cot! Amy tells the Doctor to tell them something, so that they're not completly in the dark. The Doctor pauses for a bit before he suddenly says, "It's mine." And you can see that Rory breathes a sigh of relief when the Doctor clarifies that it's the cot he's talking about. I think Rory is much more comfortable with his relationship/marriage with Amy now, but there's probably still a bit of tension now and then. He couldn't be 100% sure the baby was his. Of course, there was no doubt in my mind as a viewer that the baby wasn't the Doctor's. That's just not how Doctor Who works as a show.

I loved the reveal that River was Amy and Rory's daughter. But still, it doesn't answer much about her, other than that she's probably somewhat Time Lord. Still don't know who she kills. And I don't think she and the regenerating girl are the same. It would make sense, but it didn't seem like River knew what was going on. Maybe she's brainwashed by the people that takes her away as a baby? I'll just have to wait and see I guess. I got teary eyed at the reveal anyway. Mostly because of the Doctor's reaction. That noise he makes right after they say hello is just the most precious thing ever. I keep jumping back and watching it over and over again. Oh, how I adore Matt Smith.

And his face... He portrays so many different emotions so well! The face he makes when he's walking up to River after she says "And all this, my love... in fear of you". He just looks so... dangerous. And then he understands who she is, and you see it so well on his face.

But that brings me to another point... what does it say on that cot? From that scene, you are led to believe that it says "Melody". But how could it? This version of the Doctor has never met the baby before now! So the name on it has to be his name, the Doctor's. They say so in Confidential as well. But whyy does she then ask him to read what it says? Maybe it's the word for "baby"...? Nah, that doesn't make sense either. I'm confused.

But it seems that the explanation for this is that she didn't mean the writing on the cot, but the little leaf that Lorna made. Steven Moffat even said so on his twitter. But then it's just the way it was filmed that confuses me. The camera focuses on the writing on the cot after she says it, that's quite a bit misleading. And when it's Amy and Rory's turn, it does the same thing! Focuses on the gallifreyan text. But that could just be a misunderstanding from their side, since that's the only visible text, and then river says that it's the leaf she means... This could have been done better!

Random WTF-moment at the end: The next episode is called "Let's kill Hitler". Umm. :P

SMALLVILLE: Finale

We have a destiny together. Only on different sides.

I have never ever been so emotional during a TV episode ever! There was crying, there was laughter, there was jumping up and down and oh my, I'm shaking. There were part about the episode that I might think could have been done a bit differently, (or stuff I wish they'd dropped), but Oh My God it was such a fitting end. The final part was terribly cheesy at times, but I mean that in the most positive way ever! Superman is a bit cheesy, and I love him for it. Now I'm listening to some of the score, and I might cry again. Smallville, it's been 10 awesome years! I'm missing you already.

The wedding between Lois and Clark was beautiful, and I'm glad they both were happy and actually intended to marry each other before they were interrupted. The process of them having second thoughts in the beginning was frustrating, but the result was so fitting. Lois looked so gorgeous in that dress that I can't even. The vows were beautiful too. And I loved that it was Chloe that realized the danger of the gold kryptonite ring.

The song playing at the wedding was so beautiful too. So Smallville. I have found a lot of my favorite music on Smallville during the years. There has been more score than songs the last seasons, but oh my, it was worth it to have this one pull me right back to early Smallville.

On a random note, I was scrolling through Tumblr a little while before the finale aired in the US, and someone had linked to a song called "It ends tonight" by All American Rejects, that I think was on Smallville in season 6. And the lyrics go:

A weight is lifted / On this evening / I give the final blow.
When darkness turns to light / It ends tonight / It ends tonight.

Oh my, I broke down right there. So fitting for the end, and especially on the night it actually ended. More tears. Emotional fan is emotional. When darkness turns to light, It ends tonight.

As usual, Jonathan's presence brings me to tears. And this time Martha was there too, and the family were together again and more tears. I was impressed with how many actors they managed the get hold of for this, there was Jonathan and Martha, Chloe, Lionel, Lex, and even Aaron Asmore as "little Jimmy"! I loved how Jonathan was the one to actually give Clark the suit in the end. And I also liked that there was no real explanation for why Jonathan was there. I didn't want it. Worked better as a bit of a mystery.

I liked Chloe's hair in this episode, in some shots it was sticking out on one side, resembling her hair in the first seasons a bit. Wonder if that was intentional? And I liked that Clark managed to talk the Omega symbol out of Oliver's head. ;) Also one of his superpowers, his words. Also, there was a lot of kissing and hugging with dramatic backgrounds in this episode, Chloe and Oliver with Apokolips in the background for example.

Clark, oh Clark, he flew in the end! After a long flashback of his life, he hoovered for a bit and then took off! I was screaming at this point I think. They handled the suit nicely. I'm really glad they didn't show it more than they did. I'm glad that he turned into a proper superman in the end, but Smallville has always been about Clark, and I've always thought that the suit would look a bit out of place in the show. This worked! (And everybody did look up in the end!) The way he looked at Lois through the glass was so cute and awesome, and reminded me of Superman Returns. I'm not so sure if I liked that he moved an entire planet at the end there, but I'll let it pass and call it that he was "still within the first fifteen hours of his superhero-debut cycle, and he's got just enough residual cellular energy... to do this." (Kudos if you get the reference!)

And Lionel died, but the real Lionel is already dead, so he kind of had to go the same way. He got to be a vessel though, kind of fitting for the two Lionels, Our Lionel got Jor-El (Light) and that Lionel got Darkseid (Dark).

I'm so glad that Michael Rosenbaum returned for a little bit to wrap everything up. I had another little breakdown-moment where he talks to Clark in the ruins of the Luthor mansion, and says, "We have a destiny together. Only on different sides." Chills down my spine right there. Worked so well with that little clip in the "prevously on" where he says "I am the villain of the story."

I kind of saw Tess' death coming. I kept thinking "Tess is Toast" at random moments, though I hoped she would survive. But I'm glad that she didn't die getting her heart ripped out, as it seemed like it would for a little while. I loved Tess, she was amazing. I loved her as a villain, and I loved the way she ended up on the good side in the end. And her last act was to ensure that Lex never will remember Clark. Also a chilling moment at the end there, where Lex looks out of the window of LuthorCorp, and the sign gets damaged to resemble the company's future name, LexCorp.

And the ending, seven years in the future... it was cute ^^ Fitting. Cheesy. Superman-ish. One thing I didn't like was the comic book-thing with the little kid. It just seemed so out of place. Where did that comic come from? It couldn't have been an official comic, because it kind of told everything about Clark's past. It might have been just an artistic choice of kinds to add it, buut I just felt that it was a bit... umm no. Cute that Oliver and Chloe had a child together though. And there was John Williams music! I liked that they added it, but I'm glad they saved it for the end only.

DOCTOR WHO: Day of the Moon

Oh my God what is this I don't even! Okay kids, THIS is when things get complicated. Seriously. I think I have to go back and watch this over again, and even that won't be enough to understand everything that happened. This episode was amazingly creepy, fantastic and so so confusing! Warning, nerdy fangirl is nerdy, and long review is long!

First off, what happened between this episode and the previous? How and why was the Doctor captured at area 51? I didn't quite understand how he went from hauling Canton away after Amy shot the little girl, to being in the process of being locked up in "the perfect prison". I guess it was Canton who asked those other guys that were with him to come and hunt Amy and Rory, but why? Why was Amy asking him if he remembered if this was planned between them? Why did they flee so desperatly? How did they survive being shot? I guess Canton shot both of them, so it might have been fake bullets. There seem to be some missing time between the episodes, were we meant to guess what happened in between...? Why were they being chased at all, they weren't doing anything illegal? Was it because they were trying to free the Doctor? But why was HE captured at all? Oh, my head hurts...

I loved the bearded Doctor. He looked so different! Him sitting there in a straight jacket and chains looked almost... eerie? Is that a word I can use? I really felt for him when he started stretching after he got out of the straight jacket, I've read that those are really bad for the blood circulation. Everything he did in this part of the episode worked so well. Loved the way he straightened his braces, and fell over, hitting and revealing the invisible TARDIS.

But, -snicker-, that "Open all the doors to the swimming pool!"-part... So, River is falling off a building, the Doctor parks the TARDIS horisontally on the side of the building, and she falls into the pool through the door... Shouldn't that make all the water flow out and into other parts of the ship? And there's a perfect straight line of doors from the exit door to the pool? But I guess it's okay, the Doctor did the same thing in the Eleventh Hour... (never mind me, I'll stop nitpicking when there were so many other confusing parts in this episode.)

So after this, Canton and Amy go looking for the girl at an orphanage/children's home. What was the deal with that place? Where were all the kids? I guess the writing on the wall was the manager's doing, trying to warn himself to get out. (He had a bow tie!)

The Doctor somehow gets into Apollo 11, and fixes something in the tip of the rocket. He gets caught ("There's always a bit left over, isn't there?"), and gets tied up again, the poor guy. Fun moment when he tries to bite the chain over, but even more fun when president Nixon himself walks in and tell the men to free the Doctor! With that "presidental melody" playing in the background. I have no idea what it's called, but I have heard it many times. (Rory looked good in that suit and with the glasses!)

Amy sees a woman with a silver eye in a hatch on a door, but there's no one there when she opens the door. And there's a picture of Amy with a baby there. A picture of Amy in 1969. Whaaaat? This episode was almost surreal. Moffat, what the hell is going on?! The little girl in the space suit appears with two Silents behind her, and they take Amy with them.

The others appear at the orphanage, they manage to shoot a Silent, and they find Amy's hand-recorder, and the space suit emty. They can still hear Amy talking through the recorder. Cut to the Doctor's prison opening days later, Canton walking out of it. To the guards, it seems like he's been in there all the time. And then the president walks out too! With that same melody playing again. I cracked up! Amazing timing.

The team finds out that the space suit is a life support system, and that the girl was strong enough to force herself free.

Amy: I love you. I know that you think it's him. I know you think it ought to be... him. But it's not. It's you. And when I see you again, I'm gonna tell you properly. Just to see your stupid face. My life was just so... boring before you just dropped out of the sky. So just... get your stupid face where I can see it, okay?

Rory sits and listens to Amy's recorder, and my heart broke a little for Rory when she suddenly starts talking to someone, but not clarifying who she means. But from what she's saying, it sounds like she means the Doctor. I got a little suspicious at this part, because I thought it was quite unlikely that she suddenly would say that she loves the Doctor more. It's clarified later that she in fact was talking about her husband, and that the "falling out of the sky" part was just a figure of speech. I miiight think that this was a bit... forced. I understand that this was added to make us think she meant the Doctor, but how did Rory ever "fall out of the sky" literally or figuratively? I thought they had known each other since they were little? And the part about how her life was boring before he appeared. Aaand I don't really think that Rory ever thinks that "it ought to be the Doctor" instead of him. (This will probably result in a lot of Amy/Eleven fanfiction anyway!)

The Doctor: This isn't an alien invasion, they live here! This is their empire! This is kicking the Romans out of Rome!
Rory: Rome fell.
The Doctor: I know, I was there.
Rory: So was I.

And we get a mention of Rory's 2000 years. Yes! I'm so glad this was included in the episode, it needed to be clarified if he remembers it or not. The answer was a bit vague, but acceptable. He remembers sometimes. And he should. Otherwise he shouldn't remember any of the other stuff the trio did during the last season either. But he couldn't remember it all either, that would be too much.

Later the team appears to rescue Amy. We get a lot of bad-assery from the Doctor, not to mention doctor Song! Archelogist Actionhero, Indiana eat your heart out. ;) The Doctor actually reminds me a bit of Ten here, in the way he babbles. We get a bit of flirting from River and the Doctor, and Amy does not approve, since she's, you know, tied up and all. "Is this really important flirting, because I feel like I should be higher up on the list right now." Rory tries to free Amy while the Silents attack, and she exclaims "Just get your stupid face out of here!". Aww, Rory's face here. Oh, my heart. Melt. And that beautiful, slow version of "I am the Doctor" plaing in the background...

The Doctor says goodbye to the president, who's glad that they finally are safe, but the Doctor gladly pops that balloon by telling him that of course there are more dangers out there. Aw. His face. I don't handle happy faces turning sad very well, it hurts inside. But then the president asks the Doctor if he's still remembered in the future. Oh, another one of these, "famous people asking the Doctor if they are remembered". These go straight to my heart. My favorite is Charles Dickens, the way he asks "Doctor... my books... do they last?" And the Doctor answers with a smile, "Forever!" Oh my, I can feel the tears coming already... Not forgetting Vincent van Gogh! Oh my. Oh my. Excuse me... *sniff*

And then the Doctor drops River off back at Stormcage. Oh my GOD, that kiss. Hello, ship I did not know I supported! (She is SO not his daughter!) Holy crap, that kiss. Just, unnnf. The way he reacted was just so incredibly HIM. The way he couldn't decide where to put his hands, and the way he looks at her when she pulls away. But then we find out that she believed that they had done this before, while this actually is their first kiss for him. Huh, strange. He smiles, tells her that it was good, but unexpected, and "you know what they say, there's a first time for everything", and leaves into the TARDIS. She stands there looking sad, and says "And a last time." ...Not sure what this means. Does she mean that this was supposed to be their last kiss? How would she know? Is this River close to going to The Library? Nah, that doesn't make sense. So what does she mean by this? Last what?

Amy and the Doctor discusses her "pregnancy", which turns out to be false alarm. Or is it...? She says she didn't tell Rory because the baby might have been "Time-affected" in some way. The Doctor scans her to be sure, the screen flickers between positive and negative, but we don't get to see the result... dunn dunn duuuunn.

And then, and theeeeen, we get the biggest friggin cliffhanger Doctor Who has ever seen. At least it seems like that to me right now. The little girl from the space suit staggers down an ally in New York 6 months later. She talks to a man who asks her what's wrong, and she says she's dying, but that's easily fixed. (That beautiful music from the Doctor dies last episode starts playing) And she holds her arms out in front of her, and a familiar glow starts to appear around them, and just like that, she bursts into golden light from her head and limbs. Holy crap, did that little girl just REGENERATE!

Speculation Time: Who is that Girl!
Mind. Blown. I have some theories, but I am nowhere near finding one that I think is the correct answer. But I guess she was put in that suit to keep her from regenerating... These are some of my theories, and some I've heard from others. Maybe she's...

Amy's child: The big theory seems to be that this is Amy's daughter. That miiight just be true, with all this baby talk going on. But how is she Time Lord? I just won't believe that Amy will have a child with the Doctor. That's just so wrong on many levels. I may ship Amy/Eleven a bit in fanfiction, but never in the real deal. But if the kid isn't the Doctor's, it's Rory's, but that makes the kid completly human. Unless one of them is a Time Lord in disguise, and that's just stupid. But that talk Amy and the Doctor had about a baby being affected by their time travel... Hm.

The Doctor's daughter Jenny: This is very much possible. I've heard that an actress has been cast as "Jenny" in the series, but with no more info added. But that means she would have to have died previously and regenerated as a little girl. Well, that might happen? Maybe it happened because she never got to have an actual childhood. Hmmm.

Some other offspring of the Doctor: Sounds kinda unlikely...

An old female Time Lord character: I'm not very familiar with OldWho, but I've heard of Romana, his granddaughter Susan, and someone called Rani. One of these ladies perhaps? It would be cool to see Romana, since she used to travel with the fourth Doctor. If it's Susan... no, I really don't think she'll be back.

A new Time Lord character: This might be possible, a bit disappointing maybe.

River Song: Nah. That's stupid. River is human. I guess it's possible that River is Amy's kid, but she's NOT the Doctor's (Seriously, ewww), and certainly not this girl.

Some other questions, thoughts and comments:

Now that we know that the silence are creatures, how exactly is Silcence going to fall? "I am Silence, and Silence will fall." Will they trip and fall over? :P
Oh that music from the Doctor's death... if they repeat that at his final episode where he regenerates... *hic* *sniff*

AKA "My problems with the tenth Doctor's regeneration". This doesn't mean that I hate the tenth Doctor, just to be clear! I loved Ten, but his final episode didn't turn out at all the way I wanted, and it ruined him a little bit for me. So I'm warning all the "End of Time" fans right now, I hated Ten's exit with a passion. Don't read this if you think it might insult you.

Vale Decem.

I started watching Doctor Who at series 1's first episode "Rose", as I guess many other "New Whovians" did. I loved Chris Eccleston as the Doctor, but I didn't break down in tears when the time came for him to change. I am way too good at reading a lot of backstory and such before I watch a new show, and I had come across a spoiler and was kind of prepared for it. His regeneration was very fitting. I loved how his last words were about how he and Rose were fantastic, and he went with a smile on his face.

And then he was replaced by David Tennant, who simply blew my mind with his portrayal of the next Doctor. He was just so much fun! I actually felt more upbeat and in a good mood after watching one of his episodes, whether it was a funny or a more dramatic episode. He was always so energetic, maybe a bit hyper, and he rarely stopped talking. This was a bit of a cooler, younger doctor than the last one. And I really liked the "Larger than life"-aspect of him, if that makes any sense outside my head. "People have waited over a hundred years to find me, and then you manage it in a couple of hours." I grew really attached to him, and I dreaded watching his last episode. But the time came, and boy was I disappointed.

I had managed to be spoiled about what would cause his regeneration as well, so that wasn't a big surprise. But I never expected him to take it the way he did! I'm glad he saved Wilf, and I'm glad Wilf tried to tell him not to. And then it was time for him to "die". I'm writing that in quotes, because he's not really dying. Not a final death anyway, but he made it sound that way, the way he was talking about another man replacing him.

Wilf. Poor Wilf. How could the Doctor just leave him like this?

I was quite a bit disappointed in how this had progressed at this point. I didn't want him to regenerate alone, this great Doctor I had came to love so much. So I was relieved when he went to see his friends. But then what does he do? He does save some of them, but I wish he could have taken some with him! And he only seem to give poor Wilf more grief when he leaves. Poor Wilf! How could the Doctor just leave him like this? I can't believe the Doctor would let him live the rest of his life thinking he killed a man. (I really wish the eleventh Doctor would go back and tell him he's fine, and that he doesn't blame him.) In the end, the Doctor is alone again.

He does goes to see Rose right before the end, which was sort of a nice touch, even though I really disliked Rose (Selfish bitch). He then sees an Ood, and stumbles into the TARDIS all by himself. There he looks sad for a little while. The camera zooms in on his face, and in desperation he suddenly exclaims "I don't wanna go!" and explodes in a yellow light....

...I have NEVER EVER been so disappointed with a TV show in my life! And I watch a lot of TV. I was really sad before this, tears running, not wanting him to leave, and then suddenly, it all turned into one big WTF-moment. I think I spent an hour or two complaining about it to my very nice flatmate, who had patience enough to listen to me rant. I wanted the amazing tenth Doctor to go out with a smile on his face like the previous one did. But he kept doing the opposite of everything I hoped for. But then I sort of accepted it, and thought "okay, he's going to die alone, fine, please just smile a little before you go." But then he looks out in the air right before he's about to burst into flames, and says "I don't wanna go!" Really??? Those are gonna be your last words? Way to go out with a wimper!

And one of my other big problems with this was that this completly degraded the new Doctor. There were just too many lines like "Still feels like dying", "Some new man goes sauntering away." What are we supposed to make of this? That the new man that replaces him won't be the Doctor? He has regenerated so many times before! Does he mean he's not the same man as Nine was? Isn't that like a big slap in the face to the fans? "No new Doctor will ever be as good as me"? I can't understand what the writer was thinking here. I really don't. This really ruined Ten for me. I just can't look at him the same way I did before.

Wow, look at that, he's not dead! What a surprise.

And then he changes, and his new form is extactic to be alive. When I rewatch this now, I feel like that sudden change in music was very fitting for the eleventh Doctor, but back then it kind of put me off that the mood changed so fast. I went from "Please don't die" before he regenerated, to "What the f... was that" at his last words. to "eeeh" when the mood suddenly changed. It felt a little weird after all that sadness.

And then all this made me not want to watch the new series. I had actually been looking forward to that. So it took me some time before I dared to start series 5. (I didn't watch this when it aired by the way, the series 5 christmas special had aired at this point.) But I'm glad I did. The eleventh Doctor has turned out to be my new favorite!

DOCTOR WHO: The Impossible Astronaut

Oh my God, I'm shaking! I'm taking my imaginary hat off! Moffat, you nightmare maker you! Wow! I just have to write something down about this episode while it's still fresh in my mind. There was just so much amazing in this episode I'll just randomly write down my favorite moments.

I love how this show works kind of like a Disney movie. It's basically made for kids, but in such a way that adults can love it too, and with in jokes that the kids won't understand. That comment from River... "I'm quite the screamer. Now there's a spoiler for you". Haha, WOW! That was... I'm glad the kids most likely won't get the innuendo there!

I also loved the line from Canton where he said he was kicked out of the FBI because he wanted to get married. Amy answers, "What, is that a crime?" And he says "Yes". I didn't get that the first time! But I do now. I love it when they add that kind of stuff. :) So subtle and clever. Also, "Surnames of three of America's Founding Fathers." "Lovely fellas. Two of them fancied me." ^^

And they mentioned that the Easter Island statues were modeled after the Doctor! God, I cracked up! I love how this show always manages to make fun of itself and its main characters.

I still adore Matt Smith beyond reason. It's amazing how he looks so old in one moment, and so young in the next! He goes from hyperactive kid to 900 year old Time Lord in an instant. I loved Tennant as well, but Matt is my Doctor. The first parts of the episode were a bit goofy, but it worked. Amy even pointed it out. I'm not suuuure if I like his new hair though... It's not floppy anymore! It'll probably grow on me. But I love the way he acts! The way he moves! The way he talks! His Doctor-portrayal in general. I need him to do at least 3 seasons!

And this part right here:

Trouble is, it's all back to front. My past is his future. We're travelling in opposite directions. Every time we meet I know him more, he knows me less. I live for the days when I see him. But I know that every time I do he'll be one step further away. The day's coming when I'll look into that man's eyes — my Doctor — and he won't have the faintest idea who I am. And I think it's going to kill me.

*Shudders*... She shouldn't know what's going to happen on that day of course, but I don't think she means what she's saying here literally. She just means that she's so used to him knowing, and that it would be a big shock to meet a version of him that doesn't know who she is. But we all know what's going to happen when she meets a Doctor who doesn't know who she is... I think I heard a version of "The greatest story never told" at the end of the episode too... Gah! This kind of stuff right here! Gets to me every time! Now I need to find a gif or something combining this and what happened in Forest of the Dead.

Brr, and that death scene... chilling. The way he just walked to his death, and how he started to regenerate afterwards... (I don't want to see that in a long time yet!) And how Amy cried over him. And then they burned his body.

I just got a bit confused by the Doctor's ages. Is he 909 now? He was 907 last season, has he really managed to pass two years in the time between last season and now? And the future Doctor says he's 1103. Then he'd have to live two hundred years more as his eleventh self, shouldn't he grow older...? Or maybe two hundred years isn't enough time for a Time Lord to show any change? Other than that, congrats on managing to stay alive without regenerating, Doctor! But I guess the timeline will be rewritten at the end of next episode. He can't die before he turns into Twelve. (Had this been a fanfic, he would have regenerated!)

The follow up in the diner was also amazing. "Who did the Doctor trust the most?" And then he just walks in, very much alive, chewing on a straw and looking... *love*. Of course he had to be alive, but it was cool nonetheless. "Oh, this is cold. Even by your standards, this is cold." "...what?"

And Amy is pregnant? Hm. How's that going to affect TARDIS life? Was that why she had stomach problems..? But I thought that was from the aliens, because River got that too... Strange. And why was it so important for her to tell the Doctor right there in the middle of all the danger? Doesn't seem like Rory knows, because he'd be all over her trying to get her to stay at home... Strange. (Had this been a fanfic, the kid would be the Doctor's!) Now that I watch some parts of the episode again, I can see some of the hints. "And you've put on a couple of pounds. I wasn't going to mention it."

More random awesome moments:

This episode was very heavy on the "Doctor Who, exactly?" kind of lines. Love it. ^^
"The Legs, The Nose, and Mrs. Robinson." Snicker.
"Aww, Jim The Fish! How is he?" So cute!
And I loved how the music shifts to a slow, epic version of "I am the Doctor" when the TARDIS turns visible again... I'm a sucker for dramatic scores used in the right moments.
"Clever, eh?" "Love it." "Don't compliment the intruder!"
"Doctor... Who, exactly?" "That's classified." "Classified by whom?" "...God knows."

SMALLVILLE: Kent

Clark Luthor is back, our Clark meets his father in the paralell universe, and Lois and Clark conscider selling the Kent farm.

Oh my heart! This episode really tugged at my heartstrings. It might be because it has been such a long time since the last episode, or that I'm just emotional because there's just 5 episodes left. But I think it has something with Jonathan being in the episode, every time that man appears after season 5 I become a puddle of goo and tears. "You taught me how to be fair, and honest, you taught me that the only person in control of your destiny..." And Jonathan finishes the sentence; "...is you." That was when the tears first started running I think. Mostly because I remember a similar line from this beautiful fan-made trailer here. I really, really miss John on the show. That man is just... so... I feel like going home to find my own father and give him a big hug!

"Good luck... Son." Oh my, oh my. *sniffle*

I wonder if that was Scneider's last time on the show. I would have liked to see him one more time, and get an explanation on what made him appear in 'Lazarus', but if they don't explain that, I actually don't care that much. That scene was just beautiful, and if they want to leave it unexplained, fine by me.

The other part that made a flow of tears erupt from my eyes was the fact that they are selling the Kent farm! Oh my, I think I could se the last ten years of Smallville flash before my eyes. (Oh, there it goes again!) I know that it would be weird if they kept staying there, but it's the Kent Farm! So. Many. Memories. Not just for the characters, but for the fans.

The parts with Clark Luthor were cool as well, I just got a bit distracted by the other scenes. Welling is really good at playing "creepy sexy" as well as the way he portrays Clark.

Amazing episode, and I demand to be even more touched by the Finale! I don't want to stop crying for a while, it's awesome. ^^

Kent - Booster - Dominion - Prophecy - Finale

Oh, look at this! Smallville looks so different now after 10 years. I can't help but get nostalgic. Though, I really like this look for Clark. It was kind of inevitable for him to don this look sooner or later (in this case later). I was afraid my newfound love for Doctor Who would overshadow the final 5-6 episodes of Smallville, but I don't think I need to be afraid. I'll probably be hooked when "Kent" airs, and I'll be an emotional wreck when May 14th arrives.

Gah, look at his coat! His tie! Curse you, Smallville, I don't have time for your awesomeness, I have to finish my Bachelor report before May 14th!

That awkward moment when...

Ahahaha, Fortune was genious! :D I don't care that they wasted an entire episode with this, because it was so damn funny. Drunk Clark is awesome.

First off, the "Somebody save me" was so fitting! ^^ Perfect after the awkward "Oh my God, what have we done" scene between Clark and Chloe. And all the stuff that was scattered around the house cracked me up. I didn't get a lot of it at the first viewing, but I'm writing this after the second time, and now I realize that that large metal thing was the LuthorCorp sign!

Loved the "one of your infamous phonebooths" comment.

Clark and the Lemur were so funny, and Welling did an awsome job playing drunk. This must be one of his silliest episodes ever.

I like the idea of Tess/Emil too! :) Their song was so catchy, even better than the original. Especially Tess' part. The original female vocalist didn't do a very good job.

And Oliver and Chloe had a happy ending, how sweet! I was a bit confused if Oliver was leaving the show now too, but then I realized they have to solve the omega stuff.

RIVER: (smiles flirtatiously)

This is not a joke, stop this now! This is gonna kill you! I'd have a chance, you don't have any!

RIVER:
You wouldn't have a chance, and neither do I! I'm timing it for the end of the countdown, there'll be a blip in the command flow. That way it should improve our chances of a clean download.

THE DOCTOR:
River! Please! No!

RIVER:
Funny thing is, this means you've always known how I was going to die. All the time we've been together, you knew I was coming here. The last time I saw you, the real you, the future you, I mean - you turned up on my doorstep, with a new haircut and a suit. You took me to Darillium to see the singing towers. Oh, what a night that was! The towers sang, and you cried.

COMPUTER VOICE:

RIVER:

There's something about Doctor Who 5x04 that fascinates me so... The visuals, the directing, the lines, The Doctor's behaviour, Amy... Whoever directed that episode did a very nice job! I'm also a bit ~~obsessed~~ fascinated by Matt Smiths appearance and portrayal of the Doctor, so I can't help overanalysing.

"What caused it to crash, not me?"
Love the lineup of the three here. And the way he walks up to her, hands on his back.

"Who is she, and how did she do that? She just left you a note in a museum."
I adore the Doctor's constant annoyance.

"Two things are always guaranteed to end up in a museum, the homebox of a category four starliner, and - sooner or later - him."
Karen Gillian, why so pretty? I'm adding her to my girl crushes list!

"Ha ha ha ha, I'm nobody's taxi service. I'm not going to be there to catch you every time, you feel like, like, jumping out of a space ship!"
Again, his acting, the way he says his lines are pure genious. I love the sarcastic laugh, the way he has to stop at "like".

"One survivor. There is a thing in the belly of that ship that can't ever die."
I love how he reacts, how his curious mind just can't leave it. He's still mad at River, but he can't help it.

"Now he's listening."

"Oooh, Doctor, you soniced her."
Here I like the way Amy reacts, she's not sure what's going on yet, but she can tell that the Doctor doesn't quite have the upper hand in this situation, and takes advantage.

"Father Octavian, Sir, Bishop, second class. Twenty clerics at my command."
Here I like the confusion on Amy's face, and that she asks about this later. And I love that the Doctor is still a bit annoyed with the situation, and that he looks up at the ship while he shakes Octavian's hand.

"You're letting people call you sir, you never do that."
Liked that Amy points this out.

"Now, that's interesting. You're still here. Which part of 'wait in the TARDIS 'till I tell you it's safe' was so confusing?"

"Awww, are you mr. Grumpy-Face today?"

"The ultimate defense mechanism. Being a stone... untill you turn your back."
Matt, why so pretty?

"Currently, there are six billion human colonies."
"Wheeeew, you lot! You're like RABBITS! I'll never get done saving you."
This moment is awesome as well, I love this line. Like Rose said, he insults species when he's mad.

"Sir, if there is a clear and present danger to the local poulation..."
"Oh, there is. Bishop... Lock and load."
Love how he rarely looks at the people he talks to in this episode. He's too busy calculating and planning, but he's still paying attention to what the others are saying.

"Doctor Song?"
"Two minutes!"

"Anybody need me? Nobody?"

SMALLVILLE: Masquerade

The episode where I got giddy over Lois' coffee mug, where Clark went to England and into geeky mode, where Oliver and Chloe gets kidnapped, and where the Darkness is back.

This. Episode. Was. Amazing. The plot was probably so-so, but all the little things throughout the episode made it for me:

First off, the "previously on"-sequence. It was longer than usual, since so much needed to be explained, and the music was fantastic! Lois' "yes" to Clark's proposal was just so Lois! It wasn't typical "omg-omg-yes-omg", it was more like "you betcha I do!" And that piece of the score leading into the next clip of Oliver telling he is the Green arrow was just... *shudders*. I felt the epicness that has been this show for the last ten years run down my spine.

Lois' Tiny Church scene was so cute, and very well acted out by Erica and Tom on the phone. I love both of the actors! I do wonder why she spent time making a cardboard church... The little hitch (or whatever I should call it) in Tom's voice at "Just Tiny Martha?" really got me. And "I wanna plan this wedding as much as I wanna jump off a building." "You know I'd catch you." :D These. Two. Are. Adorable.

Also, Clark goes to England! Way to combine my two current obsessions, Smallville, I love you! "Isn't that the Bluuh? Shouldn't he be across the pond?" I love that Clark is starting to get known around the world now, and that people actually like him, even though he sticks to the shadows. Was that Justin Hartley as one of the voices on the TV..? Sounded a lot like he did when he spoke Russian in "Odyssey". And Lois has a coffee mug that says "WORK WITH ME, PEOPLE"! :D Oh Lois, I love you.

Clark pops up at the crime scene. And people seem to have started noticing that Clark is there a lot. The Police doesn't even want to see his press pass. He is a bit too well known now. Lois points this out too. Everyone greets him! A weird photographer guy starts talking to Clark, and he seems to believe that Clark is the Blur! Uh-oh... I loved this scene for it's awesome awkwardness, and that Clark actually had to grab the guy by the arm and lift him out of the hole in the ground. Yup, it's definitely time for a split identity, Clark! "Have you seen that viral clip of the Blur from London..?" (Clark's head pops up) "Because it was fuzzy, but it looked so much like you..."

"You talk like a cop, you walk like a fireman, heck, you beat us to most crime scenes, you might as well put an S on your chest..." And after this, he falls into the hole, Clark grabs him, lifts him up with one arm... He actually seems a bit desperate as he tries to blame it on adrenaline, center of gravity and his size.

We get the first actual mention that Clark has "Zoom-vision". And I absolutly died at that new awesome effect with his eyes! Holy hell, that looked good. I think this gif moves a bit faster than the actual clip did, but you get the picture. So beautiful, alien, creepy and awesome at the same time! "I've got micro vision." "Micro vision?" "It's my power, I can call it whatever I want!"

We get a peek into Chloe's head. How she feels about her life now, and I liked that temptation-sequence as well. I'm glad she understood that it wasn't real very quickly. The music at her ending scene with Oliver was beautiful as well.

Clark is incorruptable now. Way to go, Clarkie! Oliver sadly, is not.

And Clark finally puts on the glasses, for good this time, I hope. But as much as I loved this part, my heart broke a little bit. This sort of marks the beginning of the end. No more Smallville Clark, hello Superman-Clark. Clark's always been this larger than life character... I hope he doesn't pull a Christopher Reeve in the "mild-mannered"-department, I hate the versions of Clark that are complete rubbish. I liked what he did here though, pushed his glasses up and apologized. "Keep working here, and... marrying moi." Oh Loooiis, I heart thee. "The world needs to believe that Clark Kent is way too normal to ever be... Super."

And I'll be ready..." (glasses on) "Hiding in plain sight."

SMALLVILLE: Beacon

So much good in this episode! Also, the first I saw on my google reader this morning was that Rosenbaum will be returning to Smallville after all! Awesome news! I was a bit confused though, since it's not that long since we got news that he was definitely not coming back. Well, glad it was a misunderstanding!

The vote for the VRA, Vigilante Registration Act is about to happen, Martha appears to speak for the heroes, but gets injured by a mysterious shooter. Chloe is still around, and she and Lois decides to help Clark understand what he means to the people by showing him videoes of people showing their support of the Blur. Lionel makes contact with Alexander, who is now aged to a teen.

I squee-ed quite a little bit when that office chair turned around and revealed Lionel in it. It seems it took some years of Lionel-absence for me to realize that I'm a huge fan. All his scenes through this episode made me giddy. :)

Martha was awesome as well. I loved her interactions with Lois, and the way Lois was so nervous and trying to impress her. Seems like she has improved her cooking skills, those muffins looked really tasty! And of course I loved her scenes with Clark. "Clark, you are the light."

Aaand, Chloe and Oliver has apparently been doing it in the middle of the Watchtower. Allright, (sigh) they were cute. I'm happy Oliver has Chloe back.

Guys? You do realize this is about the spot where Jimmy was brutally murdered, right?

The kid/guy playing Alexander was okay, but a bit too... quick to accept Lionel. Not enough Rosenbaum-ish either. He looks like him, though! I think he's played Lex before on the show, can't remember when. I guess they'll keep him untill he turns into Rosenbaum. And then find a way to stop his aging, and presto Lex! The episode also showed that Lex is losing his memories. And apparently sporting some invulnerability too... interesting.

Random note, Clark's hair looked weird in this episode. Flatter than it uses to look. No likey. Other than that, he was really bad ass. Loved how he threw Lionel out of the burning mansion. Of course the hero has to save everyone, but he doesn't need to do it nicely!

Loved the "fan videoes" too. :) It must be so much fun for the ones who recorded it to actually be on the show. I would have exploded if it was me!

Also, the VRA is voted down! Woo! Good, now we can put that behind us and focus more on "Darkseid" and Lex. Clark talks more about what he should do with his identity in the future. And we get a bad ass sequence where the gang starts Watchtower back up again. I love that stain glass window... Would love to have the pattern on a t-shirt or something.

SMALLVILLE: Collateral

A bit late with my review for Smallville's 2011 premiere, but better late than never! I was a bit too caught up in watching Doctor who last week, but after watching that chair turn around in "Beacon" and seeing... oops, getting a bit ahead of myself.

Collateral was okay. Very Matrix-y, but it wasn't so good that I wanted to jump up and down in my chair (Reserved that for next week, apparently!). I liked the idea of them being in a fake world when I saw the previews. It worked very well that Clark's vision of Chloe wasn't a flashback, but an actual event happening right then, that he was waking up in the real world before being "put back under".

I loved that Chloe was back, allthough that means more wasted screen time for Chlollie-cuteness. Not a big fan, sorry. Chloe's hair looked really good, though! I've always been a fan of her hairstyles. I'm actually trying to copy her a bit when I go to get my hair cut!

Then the next parts of the episode is more Matrix-y, with Chloe being bad-ass and dressed in white and jumping off builings, and Clark takes a while to trust her. Sort of thought that made little sense, as he has been the one that has been the most calm about Chloe's disappearance during the last episodes...

Also, Dinah is back, yay! Loved her fighting and her hair, but her "canary-makeup" looked simpler than it has earlier. Lots of more Matrix moments, Chloe duplicates, knives stopping in mid air...

And woo, Clark flew! It's not really "real" yet, since it was in that alternate reality, but dayum. I sort of saw it coming when he bent his knees and those energy waves started forming around them and gah! Loveitloveit!

Doctor Who!

New obsession! I started with the first series (from 2005) this weekend, and now I'm close to the end of that season. I'll be so sad to see the Ninth Doctor go, but I guess the Tenth will be good too, since he's the fan favorite. It'll be fun to see how the characters react to his new appearance and personality. I don't see why so many call the Ninth "angsty", I think he's quite goofy? But maybe that's in comparison to the Tenth, which I know absolutly nothing about. I'll have to wait and see!

Rose is... okay. It's bugging me a bit that she's being such a jerk to her (ex?) boyfriend Mickey. I LOVE the Doctor, and this new Jack guy is okay too. :)

I've read some new comics the last month or so, so I thought I'd write a little about what I thought about each of them.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns & The Dark Knight Strikes Again
Fans of the first story might think I'm an idiot for mentioning the two stories as one, but I read them in one go. The art was good in a very weird way, but I'm sorry -- the story sucked, Superman-wise. If anyone read this blog, they know I put Superman above all others, even when he's not the main character of the story. I can't help it! And the author of these stories seemed to hate Superman or something. He was portrayed as stupid, pompous... The story lost me early.

There were some stuff I liked though! The Girl Robin was cute, but I never really caught her back story. Why was she such an acrobat? Why didn't she go back to her parents? Superman and Wonder woman's daughter was very well portrayed art wise, but her personality was shit. I liked the way she always bended her legs when she was in the air! The costume was good as well.

Superman: For All Seasons
I postponed reading this for a while since I didn't like the art, but yesterday I decided to give it a try anyway. It was kind of cute, actually. It reminded me of the "Man of Steel"-series. My biggest problem with this story is the way Clark looks. He just looks so big and stupid, I'm sorryyy... It grew a bit on me after a while. But I really liked this part here, where Clark looks imposing and "ahem" behind Lois!

Other than that, I liked the background art and the coloring. The coloring was done by a guy named Bjarne Hansen, maybe he's Norwegian? It sounded like a very nordic name. I tried google, but I didn't get any good results.

I also liked the way the story was narrated, and split into four parts. I'm not quite sure what the symbolism of the seasons was, but I'll probably find out later. I am very impatient when I read or watch, so I usually miss a lot of details the first time.

Batman: Hush
I muust admit I only read this for the Superman/Poison Ivy part. And for Jim Lee's Art. He draws a gourgeous Superman, and not a bad Bruce Wayne either, but I don't quite care for his women. And the Joker had a weird nose!

I liked the fight even though the "mind-controlled Superman"-plot is overused. I like that Batman explains that he's only alive because Superman is fighting Ivy's control while he's fighting. Also - kryptonite ring! Fighting Superman with supersonics!

Young Justice

Oo, Young Justice! Jeg likte disse to første episodene veldig godt. Serien fortsetter visstnok 7. januar, så jeg får smøre meg med tålmodighet.

Det kan muligens hende at jeg likte denne så godt fordi den handlet så mye om Superboy, men jeg får bare fortsette og se. Jeg skulle ønske Superman ikke var så kald mot Superboy på slutten, men jeg håper det hjelper utover i serien.

Robin var kul, selv om hacke-kunnskapene hans begynte å nærme seg Deus Ex Machina-nivå. Jeg likte at han og Kid Flash var de beste planleggerne av gjengen. Spesielt når KF løp i mellom beina på monsteret, og de litt sterkere i gjengen overfalt det mens det ikke så! Kid Flash burde ha klart å unngå flere slag men.

Aqualad (Ugh, for et navn) var en av favorittene mine. Jeg likte måten han oppførte seg på, kostymet, designet og kreftene. Han var den mest fornuftige, og den som fikk overtalt Superboy til å komme over på deres side.

Superboy var også bra utført, selv om det ikke ble forklart at han også er klonet fra Lex Luthor... Kanskje det er en plotdetalj de sparer til senere? Replikkene hans ble sjelden stive, og det var smått creepy da de andre først fant ham.

Ellers hang jeg meg opp i typiske feil, som at alle bare står der dumt og ser på når forskeren forvandler seg til et monster. Troor kanskje det ville være mest taktisk å angripe før han er fullt forvandlet? Hm?

Supernatural!

So, I'm watching Supernatural for the first time. I like it! I found it through Tumblr. Scary as hell though, I usually never watch anything scary. I almost died when that girl crawled through the mirror!

BATMAN: Gotham Knight

Not much to say about this one, I didn't like it as much as Under the Red Hood, but I just want to write down some notes!

The first part of the installment was umm, cheesy? Didn't like it. Cool animation and awesome backgrounds, but horrible faces.

The second part was more proof that Batman is a bit too badass sometimes. :P Look at him just standing there in the fire. On the other hand, I liked the way he just stood there next to the police guy. Superman can't pull that off as well.

Anime Bruce looked okay, but not quite like Bruce Wayne. They should have done something different with the hair. I kept thinking "Light Yagami!" Kevin Conroy's voice didn't fit on him at all! I noticed that he used a much lighter voice when being Bruce, but it still sounded wrong. Conroy's voice is too... it doesn't fit on an anime pretty boy!

The next part after that was... meh. Nothing to say. Finally a classic villain.

And after that, Bruce looked like Bruce again. Strange, but pretty style.

Then we got an animated 90's comic style. Okay, but it looked weird animated.

BATMAN: Under the Red Hood

Sometimes Batman is a bit too badass... But I liked this movie anyway. Usually I lose interest in Batman stories when Superman isn't around, but this movie was very good. (Kind of brutal too.)

Talking about Superman, I think that Amazo-robot had a run-in with him. Super strength, "lazer"-eyes, and flight?

I had heard of Jason Todd before I watched this movie, I knew that the Joker killed him, and that he came back as some sort of villain, but a lot of the stuff in this film was new to me. I had never heard of the Black Mask, so I read about him on Wikipedia.

Batman's voice was very good. I actually thought it was Kevin Conroy when he first spoke. I missed Mark Hamill though. The guy that voiced the Joker here had that same "rasp" is his voice, but it was a bit too deep at points I think. It was also fun that Neil Patrick Harris Voiced Nightwing, and Jensen Ackles voiced Jason. (Ooo, Jensen Ackles, Smallville, Jason, geddit?)

Batman is actually really cool. I get the people that likes him better than Superman. But sometimes it "takes a bit off" as we would say in Norwegian. I'm not sure if that's a valid expression in English. It borders on the ridiculous. He dodges bullets, for God's sake! And you guys call Superman too powerful! At least he has superpowers! And when one of the villains throws a car at Batman, he climbs into the door on the passenger's side, and jumps out the other door! Really? But it looked cool, so I'll let it pass.

I really liked the Joker's part in this story. I had no idea he used to be the Red Hood before. His beating of robin was brutal. His laugh was perfect. The way he looked bored when eating potato chips was hilarious, and the way he just slayed down all the men with the broken glass was very Joker-ish. I also liked the explanation for why Batman never kills the Joker (other than the fact that he can't, because then the series would lose it's coolest villain), that he can't go down that road, because then he can never come back. I kind of wondered about that too.

For a Batman story, I give this... 4,5 of 5!

Superman Flyby concept art

This project was dropped, but I like the ideas for a new costume, except that they have to stop trying to change the shield! It's the rest of the suit that's the problem folks, not the "S"! The symbol is timeless and perfect. This one just looks stupid. The rest of the suit is just fine by me.

Oh yeah, and the curl needs to go too. Really, guys?

Smallville 2011 Promo

Time for a geek-out! I just watched the promo for the second half of season 10.

OMG! Lionel! :D I Im SO happy they got John Glover back. He's part of the soul of Smallville.
OMG! Lex! :D Look, Rosenbaum, you can come back with hair! Please, we only need an episode or two!
OMG! Chloe! :D And indeed, she looks badass!

We see Clark posing in the Blur-jacket, while Lois (voice over) says "You're an american hero."
Lionel Luthor pulls down the window of the car he sits in, and looks at someone. Cut to him standing and talking to the Lex clone, who's seems to be a teenager now. Lionel says "You're my flesh and blood. My only son."
Short glimpse of Oliver wearing white.
We see Martha walking onto a podium and waving to the audience. Yay, Martha! :D Oliver says in voiceover, "They stripped me of my weapons, messed with my equilibrium, they're inside my head now! While he talks we see some more clips:
Rick Flag and another man walk by some white "tubes" containing people.
Oliver breaks a glass table in frustration.
Chloe slowly lifts her head. She's dressed in white, she looks pissed, and it's coming smoke out from the sides of her head!
Oliver finishes what he's saying on screen, talking to someone in a light blue shirt. Possibly Clark.
Deadshot points a gun.
Very quick shot of a large needle moving.
Lionel grabs Tess. Clark starts speaking in voiceover: "Someone was performing experiments on me." A soldier shots at a blonde woman wearing black (Dinah, most likely). Someone grabs Clarks chin and shines a light at him. He looks like he might be unconcious, and has electrodes attached to his head.
Fade to black. Clark says "They took away my powers, Lois."

Huh. I'm guessing that the "pyramid-blackout" in Icarus leads into everyone ending up in those tubes, and the experiments. Mysterious, mysterious. I'm looking forward to seeing what Chloe's been up to.

SMALLVILLE: Icarus

General Slade Wilson er tilbake, og avhører personer som kan ha noe med superheltene å gjøre. Clark frir til Lois, og får ja! Carter Hall og Stargirl er tilbake for forlovelsesfesten, men ender opp med å hjelpe til med å finne ut hva generalen pønsker på.

Var det noe negativt å henge seg opp i med denne episoden tro? Kommer ikke på noe i farta, så da går vi heller over til å skrive kjapt om de tingene jeg likte med denne episoden!

Endelig så vingene til Hawkman ålreite ut! Og han snakka ikke så slitsomt som i Absolute Justice! Jeg satte mye mer pris på ham i denne episoden. Så trist at han døde på slutten av episoden, men nå kan han jo bli gjenfødt og så får han være sammen med Shayera.

Frieriet til Clark var nydelig, og han hadde valgt absolutt det beste stedet å gjøre det, ved telefonkiosken. Det er et veldig spesielt sted for dem begge! Jeg er så glad for at hun sa ja nesten med en gang! Det er nok unødvendig kjærlighetsdrama i tv-serier, jeg er så glad for at de ikke hala det ut ved at hun ikke sa ja før i slutten av episoden. Forlovelsesfesten var også fin!

Jeg likte også øyeblikket hvor Clark står og ser sjokkert på Carter som ligger på bakken, og han sier "I've got something for you", løfter vekk vingene, og avslører at Lois ligger under dem!

Scenene mellom Oliver og Carter var også gull, spesielt Carter som avslører at han har null peiling på datamaskiner. "I miss my typewriter." "You miss the telegraph!"

Dessuten flira jeg godt av at sklia i redaktørkontoret på the Daily Planet ble vist igjen! Hadde aldri tenkt noe serlig over den om ikke gutta i SHoE hadde spøkt så mye med den!

Nå er det store mysteriet: Hva i alle dager skjedde på slutten der? Alle er i begravesen til Carter i Egypt, og mens de står der stiger en liten hvit pyramide opp av sanden. Den lyser opp, og når lyset forsvinner ligger alle der bevisstløse! Boom! Rulletekst!

Mystisk. Og nå er det ikke mer Smallville før januar 2011. Jeg må finne noe annet å ha dilla på så lenge!

SMALLVILLE: Luthor

Åå, denne sesongen har vært et underverk av fantastiske episoder. Rett før jeg begynte å se på dagens episode, så tenkte jeg; "Denne gangen kan jeg vel vente litt før jeg skriver et blogginnlegg. Den kan da umulig bli så bra." Men det funka ikke gitt. For en slutt denne episoden hadde! Jeg er rent skjelven jeg. Nå er virkelig bare Michael Rosenbaum det eneste som mangler for å avslutte serien helt perfekt. Chloe kommer nok tilbake til slutten.

Det var nesten ikke noe dårlig med denne episoden, bortsett fra noe småplukk:

Kommunikasjonsfeil. Clark burde kunne ha forklart hvordan ståa var på en bye bedre og fortere måte for Lionel og Oliver! Med Tess og Lois klarte han seg bra, men hvorfor var det så vanskelig å komme med de riktige ordene til Lionel da han lå der og ble brutalt banket opp? Han kunne for eksempel fulgt opp "I'm not your son!" med "I already used the mirror box! Your son's in my universe! My name is Clark Kent!" Det ville ha virket tror jeg.

En liten undergruppe av dette punktet er også at Clark må slutte å tillegge alternative virkeligheter verdier fra sin egen verden. ...om det ga noe mening. Selv om han vet at han er i et parallelt univers, så roper han fortsatt "Mom? Dad?" når han kommer til låven på gården. Hallo-o, Clark, du har jo allerede funnet ut at Lionel er faren din i denne verdenen. Rop på Jonathan og Martha!

Navnet Clark Luthor gir null mening. Navnet "Clark" kommer jo fra Martha Kents pikenavn. Hvis ikke Lionel hadde en eller annen tilknytning til henne, så er det absolutt ingen grunn til at han ville kalle den lille gutten han finner Clark. Jeg leste en fanfiction en gang som hadde veldig likt opplegg som dette alternative universet, hvor Kal-El blir funnet av Lionel og blir døpt Kal Luthor. Så mye mer passende! Kal L, ikke sant? Men hvis ikke han får vite om guttens fødenavn før han døper ham, så hadde det vært mye mer logisk at han fant på enda et L-navn.

Men bortsett fra det, så var dette en fantastisk episode!

Tess sin del av historien var rørende. Clark får vite om Tess sitt Luthor-opphav etter at han havner i det alternative universet. Det var tydelig at hun reagerte da Clark påsto at Luthor-blodet var som gift da han var opprørt over den rømte Lex-klonen. Jeg syntes ikke helt noe om scenen helt i starten da jeg så den, men måten Clark forklarte seg på etter at alt var i orden igjen gjorde det bedre. Han forklarer at det ikke var blodet til Lionel, men mannen selv som gjorde ham til en morder i den alternative virkeligheten.

Kysset mellom henne og "Clark Luthor" var også litt fascinerende. Jeg tror ikke Tess virkelig er så interessert i Clark at det er på et nivå hvor hun vil starte et forhold med ham, men det er nok en viss tiltrekning der. Jeg tror nok hun er litt tiltrukket, men har ikke tenkt å gjøre noe med det. Cassidy gjorde en flott jobb med å vise først sjokk, og så "hm, dette var ikke så ille."

Clark Luthor (eller Kal Luthor i mitt hode) var skummel. Det var en merkelig, men spennende vri at han og Tess både var adopterte søsken, og i et romantisk forhold. Dessuten likte jeg at hans alter ego var kalt Ultra-Man, som stort sett er en speilversjon av Supermann i tegneseriene.

Jeg lurte litt på hvordan Clark kunne ha et arr, når han helbreder seg selv, men det ble forklart etter hvert med at det var laget med gull-kryptonitt, noe som tydeligvis ikke kan helbredes. Ok forklaring, men jeg håper ikke at det dukker opp noen gang i "vårt" univers. Vi har nok kryptonitt-typer nå!

Kjærlighetsdelene av episoden var så som så, men verdt å nevne. Jeg synes kanskje at det var litt merkelig at Lois kunne kjenne igjen at det var hennes Clark de siktet på etter at han og dobbeltgjengeren byttet plass, men det får gå. Jeg elsket scenarioet Clark dukket opp i men! Jeg vet ikke hvordan Tess, Oliver og Lois klarte det, men jeg er imponert over at de hadde såpass overtaket som de hadde.

Det beste Clois-øyeblikket var mot slutten av episoden, hvor Clark møter Lois på sykehuset, og har med seg en bukett med blomster:

Lois: What are these for?
Clark: Nothing says "Sorry My Doppelganger From A Parallel Earth Tried To Kill You" like flowers.
Lois: I think there's a card for that now.
Clark: The store was out.

Jeg digger det når de fjoller rundt sånn! ^^

Forholdet mellom Lois og Oliver i den alternative verdenen var passende, men litt trist. Jeg likte det ikke helt at Lois nesten faller for vår Clark rett etter at Oliver spurte henne hvorfor hun valgte akkurat ham. Eller, alt!Lois faller vel ikke for Clark, men jeg likte ikke helt overgangen fra "trist Oliver som lurer på hvorfor hun har valgt ham" over til Clark og Lois på taket.

Men! Lionel er tilbake! Booyah! Denne alternative Lionel var tilbake der han var i starten av serien, "The Magnificent Bastard" som fansen pleide å kalle ham. Denne Lionel har ikke hatt Clark der som "en god kraft som kan hjelpe ham å finne den rette veien", for å si det sånn. Før han døde i sesong 7 hadde jo Lionel stort sett gått over til de godes side. I denne episoden får vi se hvordan både Lionel og Clark ville blitt om ting hadde gått annerledes da skipet til Clark landet.

Sverdkampen mellom Lionel og Clark var også innmari tøff. Å insette sverdene med blå kryptonitt virker virkelig som noe Lionel kunne finne på. Og jeg likte at han hadde totalt overtaket på vår Clark, som så klart ikke har noe som helst trening i fekting.

Jeg stussa litt over hvordan John Glover kunne ha kontrakt for å komme tilbake i flere episoder, men tror du ikke Lionel ble med Clark tilbake til sitt univers! Fyyy, for en vri! Jeg satt faktisk og hoia med armene i været! Tenk om serien kunne slutte sånn, med både Lionel, Lex, Chloe, Jonathan og Martha tilbake!

Dessuten var Lionels siste scene fantastisk lagt opp. Han kjøper en avis i en kiosk, og kioskmannen kommenterer at det er noe kjent med ham. Lionel forklarer at han er utenbysfra, så det kan nok ikke stemme. Og så følger denne lille snutten her:

FOR en måte å bryte den fjerde veggen på! Vel utført, Smallville-produsenter, jeg bøyer meg i støvet! Lionel er tilbake, og jeg tror vi alle lurer på hvordan alt ender til slutt!

Var og så første halvdel av The Deathly Hallows i helga. Fyyy, jeg har ikke tid til å få Harry Potter-dilla nå midt i eksamenstiden! Selv om jeg har lest boka flere ganger, så tenkte jeg allikevel "Neeei, cliffhanger!" da filmen slutta.

Just read a post over at "Superman of Steel" that Anne Hathaway might play Lois Lane in the new Superman movie. Umm. Please no! That will be just like Liv Tyler as Bruce Banner's girlfriend in The Incredible Hulk. Or Jessie McCartney as Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender! (Thank God that last one didn't happen) I'm so used to Erica Durance now, and I would like someone like that. I just think that Anne Hathaway is a bit too... goofy and awkward? But who knows, she might do a good job... But I'd rather see that they find someone else!

On the other hand, the post also reads:

[...] part of Superman: Man Of Steel would be set in West Africa, with Clark Kent being the central focus of the movie. Clark – who has yet to be cast – "is a young journalist, travelling for The Globe, who would rather solve problems and help people without resorting to using his special powers."

Ooo, I like that. I read that the film would be loosely based on (or inspired by) the comic Superman Birthright. And the part where he's in Africa was without a doubt my favorite part of the comic. That's why I love Smallville so much, because it focuses (or focused maybe, in the past tense) on the problems a superpowered person would have if he wanted to live a normal life. I like the little things. Like how he would have to pretend to have been traveling by plane when he came to Africa etc. The daily things. I love me some action too, but I like this kind of stuff better.

It's kind of why I finally lost interest in the manga Bleach. They are fighting all. the. frikkin. time! Constantly! I liked it better when he had to deal with his role as a soul reaper at the same time as his regular life.

And I love other versions of Clark's background story where he travels a lot before settling in Metropolis. That way he could learn about different cultures, and actually study and work with journalism before he applies to the Daily Planet. Smallville didn't do that quite right. Why the hell would the newspaper hire Clark, who's basicly a dropout?

I don't like the versions where he spends like 14 years at the Fortress of Solitude either. Ugh. Africa all the way!

SMALLVILLE: Patriot

AC er tilbake, og han har giftet seg siden sist. Oliver bestemmer seg for å registrere seg i "The Vigilante Registration Act" (VRA) for å finne ut hva som egentlig ligger bak. Lois er misfornøyd med at Clark ikke forteller henne hva han holder på med. Clark, AC og Mera finner ut at oljeplatformene som har blitt bygget rundt omkring i verden er hemmelige fengsler for folk med superkrefter. Oliver og AC blir tatt til fange, og resten av gjengen må redde dem.

Cool guys don't look at explosions...

Jeg er litt for trøtt til å skrive noe fornuftig om episoden akkurat nå, men jeg vil knotte ned noe allikevel. Jeg likte denne episoden veldig godt, bortsett fra to ting.

1.) Mera. Hun kunne ha vært en ålreit karakter, og jeg likte stort sett at hun var der, men nok en gang henger jeg meg opp i overdreven fanservice. Pupper! Pupper i fjeset mitt! Hvem går rundt sånn? Og hvorfor er det sånn at absolutt alle kvinnelige superhelter måå dra glidelåsen på drakta si så langt ned? Det var ikke snakk om utringning en gang, hele bh-en syntes jo. Jeez. Og hva var vitsen med at hun brått kledde av seg foran Lois på et punkt i episoden? Dessuten snakket hun gruelig formelt, noe som også ble slitsomt i lengden.

2.) Lois. Samtalen med Oliver irriterte meg voldsomt. Hvorfor må TV-serier lage så mye unødvendig (og dårlig skrevet) drama? Lois anklager Clark for å vurdere å skrive under på VRA uten å fortelle henne noe. Sånn som jeg oppfatta det, så var det bare noe som ramla Clark inn der og da, ikke noe som han hadde tenkt på lenge. Og det synes jeg Oliver burde ha sett også, og forklart det for Lois! Hjelpes. Dette skjer stadig i serier. Forklar det som det er, damnit! For eksempel som da Lucy kyssa Clark for to episoder siden. Forklarte han det som det var til Lois? Neeida. Dessuten synes jeg det blir litt for mye kjærlighetsprat. Jeg er en stor Clois-fan, men jeg er mer fan av supermann-mytologien! A little less conversation, a little more action please... ♫

Plot, what plot?

Ellers likte jeg episoden veldig godt. Det var moro å se Tess og Lois diskutere Clark uten å vite at den andre parten har del i "superhemmeligheten". AC og Mera var kule sammen, boobs aside. Jeg likte også veldig godt "previously on"-sekvensen! Det siste klippet der var faktisk det klippet jeg spolte tilbake flest ganger for å se igjen. Stilig måte å slutte på. Boom! Clarks hånd lukker seg foran kameraet!

Clarks konfrontasjon med Slade var badass! "...So it is you." Litt forvirra over hvordan Clark takla eksplosjonen så fint men. Ingen skrammer? Etter at han var innestengt bak kryptonittgittere på en eksploderende oljeplatform? Hm. Men jaja. Det virka jo ikke som strålningen var så sterk, han holdt seg jo stående. Men hvordan vet disse folkene om kryptonitt i det hele tatt? Synes heller de kunne ha løst samtalen mellom de to uten det.

Og wee - Hamilton er tilbake! Jeg er stoor Hamilton-fan. Skuespilleren er fantastisk. Litt tørr, but I likey!

SMALLVILLE: Abandoned

Dette var episoden som virkelig lever opp til navnet sitt, "foreldre som forlater barna sine"-episoden. Tess og Clark drar til et barnehjem for å etterforske noen mystiske drømmer Tess har hatt. Lois finner noen videokasetter hvor moren spilte inn beskjeder til henne før hun døde, og hun bestemmer seg for å dra og snakke med Jor-El i Fortress of Solitude.

Denne episoden likte jeg absolutt best for slutten! For en twist! Men mer om det senere. Den røde tråden i denne episoden var helt klart foreldre, og diverse grunner til at de måtte forlate barna sine. Lois var redd for at moren var sint på henne for at hun ikke kom og besøkte henne på sykehuset, men på videokassetten forteller hun at det var fordi hun ikke ville at barna hennes skulle se henne så svak. Lois mener at Clark også burde snakke med sin far om problemene sine, men han vil ikke.

Det var så koselig å se Teri Hatcher som moren til Lois! Jeg kunne ikke la være å tenke på at denne episoden må ha hatt veldig mange inspilninger hvor skuespillerne står og snakker ut i tomme lufta og later som de snakker til noen. Men det var bra gjort. Lois blir inspirert av det moren sa til henne på videoen, og bestemmer seg for å dra og ordne ting mellom Jor-El og Clark uten ham. Hun finner nøkkelen til portalen, ender opp i Arktis, og prøver å få Jor-El til å høre på henne.

Over til Tess og Clark, som treffer på Granny Goodness! Tess har vonde drømmer om et barnehjem, og hun får med seg Clark for å etterforske. Clark hører en jente hyle, og løper for å hjelpe henne. Granny holder på å hjernevaske små foreldreløse jenter til å bli soldater for Darkseid. Tess kjenner seg smått igjen på barnehjemmet, og det viser seg at hun bodde der som liten. Granny forklarer at de biologiske foreldrene hennes (som var veldig mektige) kom og hentet henne og fant en adoptivfamilie til henne, så Granny ikke fikk fullført treningen hennes. Hun stenger Tess inne på det gamle rommet sitt. Hun klarer å rømme, men støter på en av "furiene", som jeg regner med er Lashina.

Clark støter på de andre "The Female Furies" som tydeligvis forsterker kreftene sine med kryptonitt. Littegrann for praktisk for min smak kanskje, men jaja. Clark ender opp lenket fast i et rom. Skjorta hans forvinner på mystisk vis. Husk det, superskurker, regel nummer 1: Har du tatt en superhelt til fange, husk å lenke ham fast i bar overkropp! Ikke at jeg klager, Tom ser bra ut han (tihi), men det er så unødvendig! Jeg har sett traileren for neste ukes episode, hvor både Green Arrow og Aquaman blir holdt fanget uten skjorte! Du store fanservice.

Clark klarer å rømme, etter å ha blitt kuttet opp en smule av "Mad Harriet". Han superspeeder avgårde, finner skjorta si på veien, og finner Tess hengende etter halsen i et tau fra taket. Han får henne løs. Tess forteller at hun var vant til å klare allting alene. Clark smiler og sier at han ikke hadde tenkt å forlate henne.

Vel tilbake i Smallville finner Clark ut hvor Lois er. Han drar etter og finner Lois svevende i lufta. Tydeligvis ble Jor-El litt sur. Han får henne ned, kjefter på Jor-El, og i det det virker som om han ikke har tenkt å si noe som helst, så viser han dem et opptak av ham og Lara sammen rett før de sendte Clark avgårde fra Krypton. De forteller om hvor mye de elsker ham, og at han har med seg det beste fra de to:

The ship is designed to carry you to your destiny. It can only hold one kryptonian. One who has so much potential, so unlike your father. Your mother and I cannot come with you, to do so would be to burden your innocent soul with our frailities and failures. What you have within you, the best of both of us. I am sending with you all my knowledge, none of my ego or regrets. They will die with me here, on Krypton. Whatever trials I put you through, I will never lose faith in you. (...) But we are confidant you will become earth’s greatest savior. Never doubt that just as you're a part of us, we will always be a part of you. Farewell, my son.

Det var en rørende sekvens, og jeg likte det Lara og Jor-El fortalte på innspilningen til sin lille sønn. Det forklarer at Jor-El faktisk fortsatt tror på Clark. Jeg likte også at det filteret som var lagt over stemmene deres gjorde at Jor-El låt veldig lik sånn som han låter i en episode av Lois & Clark hvor Clark får vite om bakgrunnen sin.

Men! Jeg synes forfatterne av serien burde skille bedre mellom den mannen Jor-El var, og den kunstige intelligensen som lever i Fortress of Solitude. Det virker som om A.I.-Jor-El har en litt annerledes personlighet enn originalen. Jeg så ikke helt logikken i at A.I.-Jor-El ville vise Clark og Lois en innspilning fra hva originalen tenkte og følte rett før Krypton eksploderte, når han alltid har vært så opptatt av Clarks skjebne, Clarks trening... Hm. Det er på en måte roboten som er sur på Clark, ikke originalen!

Men på en annen side så er denne roboten fryktelig humørsyk. Det kan hende det kommer av dårlig manusforfatting, men kanskje den stort sett er programmert for å hjelpe Clark til å "omfavne sin skjebne", men at mannen han er basert på skinner igjennom nå og da. Som når han snakker til Martha i den første episoden av sesong 6:

Everything that you have done for Kal-El, you have my deepest gratitude. I could not have wished for a brighter light to guide my son. Farewell, Martha Kent.

Jeg skulle ønske at vi faktisk fikk høre stemmen til roboten i tillegg til den avspillningen. Fordi hans sinne liksom ikke har noe med originalen å gjøre. Jeg får bare gå ut i fra at planen til roboten var akkurat det jeg spekulerte i: Omvendt psykologi.

Noen andre ting som irriterte meg med de delene av episoden som omhandlet Clarks forhold til den kunstige intelligensen i Arktis, var at jeg synes de også burde skille mer mellom "Father" og "Dad" når de snakker om Jor-El. I starten av episoden omtaler Lois Jor-El som "your dad". Clarks "Dad" er Jonathan! Jor-El er riktignok Clarks biologiske far, men han har ikke oppdratt Clark, og bør fortsatt bli omtalt som "Father"etter min mening. Når en robot i Arktis blir omtalt som "dad" synes jeg de tråkker litt for mye på Jonathans minne.

På en helt annen side: Hvordan har to blonde foreldre klart å få en så mørkhåret sønn som Clark? Og det irriterer meg fortsatt at Julian Sands ikke likner det spor på Tom Welling, når det ble forklart i "Relic" at de to var prikk like. Jæ jæ. Smallville. Full av plot-hull. Jeg er glad for at både Clark og Lois fikk ordna opp i noen foreldreproblemer i alle fall. Neste gang Clark drar innom Fortress så håper jeg roboten er i bedre humør. (Å jo... hvorfor i alle dager holdt Jor-El Lois flytende i lufta helt til Clark kom? Hva var poenget med det?)

Tilbake på barnehjemmet dukker Desaad opp for å snakke med Granny Goodness! Og han har med seg Gordon Godfrey fra episoden Supergirl tidligere i sesongen. De kaller seg Darkseids "three minions".

Lois og Clark bestemmer seg for å gå ut for å ha det litt moro på Ace of Clubs. Lois finner et kort fra moren hvor det står "for your wedding day". Før de går tar Clark en liten eske opp av lomma, åpner den, og vi ser på ringen inni! Jeg regna med at det var det han spurte faren til Lois om i forrige episode. Det er utrolig så fort denne sesongen går unna. Jeg er glad for Lois og Clark, men jeg håper egentlig at de dropper å vise bryllupet. Kanskje han kan fri i siste episode eller noe? Lois roper på Clark at de må forte seg, "it's gonna start soon". Clark smiler og sier lavt, "sooner than you think, Lois". Hm, kanskje det blir bryllup allikevel?

I Luthor Mansion sitter Tess og ser på et ark. Overskriften er "Certificate of Live Birth". Vi ser et flashback til da Tess kom til barnehjemmet. Lille Tess går ut av en limousin sammen med en mann og går opp og stiller seg sammen med Granny Goodness på trappa i regnet. Mannen klapper henne på hodet før han går tilbake til bilen. Tess roper "Daddy! Daddy, wait! Please don't leave me!" Bilen kjører avgårde. Og skiltet med registreringsnummeret viser bokstavene LUTHOR... Tilbake i nåtiden ser vi at fødselsatesten leser "Birth name: Lutessa Lena Luthor. Lionel Luthor. Pamela Jenkins."

Oh. Mai. Gahd. Den så jeg ikke komme! Holy crap-o-lainen. Tess er datteren til Lionel og søsteren til Lex! Moren hennes er Pamela Jenkins, barnepiken til Lex, som dukket opp i en episode i sesong 1! Friggin' sesong 1! Jeg kunne ikke huske dama en gang, så lenge siden er det siden hun dukket opp i serien. Bra gjort, forfatterne av Smallville, bra gjort!

Det får meg til å filosofere over at Tess har vært forelsket i Lex, vært moren til Lex (klonen), og søsteren hans attpåtil! Gleder meg til Lionel kommer tilbake om to episoder!

Jeez, Smallville. Når du er over vil jeg i alle fall ikke bruke så mye tid på å skrive dritlange tekster om episoder lenger. ^^ Sukk.

The "logic" of Superman's powers

I just wanted to write down some of my thoughts on how Superman's powers should work. He should have all his normal powers. Invulnerability, speed, strength, flight, heat vision, x-ray vision, telescopic and microscopic vision and freeze breath. That's it! I don't think he should be insanely inteligent, like he was in Earth One, but he should be smart of course. I like the versions of him where he can learn languages very quickly. I kind of find that logical, because if he's able to move that fast, his head has to be capable to see the stuff he has to move around. Ergo - his mind has to be able to prosess information insanely quick, but that doesn't make him a genius.

Also, I have a problem with the fact that his powers can be transfered to a human being. It just doesn't make any sense. If you look at it in a way: What he can do isn't tecnically superpowers. It's genetic. His body is made in a way that it's capable of absorbing and storing great amounts of solar energy, and that energy results in those abilities. So a human body, that can't store solar energy, shouldn't be able to contain those powers! There are no ways for the body to fuel the powers any more! If their minds were switched however... that would work!

But I think that Parasite can do it, because he actually absorbs his energy. He still wouldn't have the right kind of body to prosess it, but meh. I'll let that slip. Actually, If his powers were to be transfered to someone (like Parasite), they would only have powers untill the energy they absorbed from Clark has run out. (which actually happens with Parasite) It's his body that absorbs sunlight, and that can't be transfered to another person!

I'd say that if Clark loses his powers from absorption, he would get them back when he's stored enough energy again. How is it that when he loses his powers in different incarnations, he can't just absorb more energy? Stupid. His body is still the same!

But I'm not really sure on one thing. Should kryptonite work on him when he's powerless? On first thought, I would like to say no. Because kryptonite kind of pulls all the energy he has stored out of his body in a way that hurts him very much. But if that's the case, how could the rock kill him? Shouldn't it sap all his energy, and stop when there's no more solar energy left, and leave him mortal? If the rock keeps on pulling out all his energy untill he dies, it should work on him when he's powerless from another source as well. I'd say kryptonite should be twice as lethal when he's powerless.

SMALLVILLE: Ambush

Lois sin far, Sam Lane, og søsteren Lucy kommer på besøk til Kentgården for Thanksgiving. Generalen er beinhard mot Clark, og presser ham for å finne ut om han skjuler noe. I mellomtiden er "The Suicide Squad" i gang med å spore våre helter, og har en plan klar for å hindre at loven for å registrere superhelter blir godkjent.

The Justice League med Supermann i spissen. I alle fall begynner det å likne på noe!

Jeg er visst litt fascinert av Michael Ironside som spiller Sam Lane. Jeg kjenner ham først og fremst som stemmen til Darkseid i en del animerte serier, og det var rent skummelt når jeg hørte ham snakke i denne episoden. Han har så stilig, autoritær, dyp stemme!

Ellers så syntes jeg episoden forklarte det litt dårlig hvordan Clark hadde blitt "tatovert" med det merket. De brukte blå kryptonitt i kula? Ville ikke Clark bli skutt da? Plothole, folkens. Og vet virkelig Suicide Squad at kryptonitt er skadelig for Clark? Hm.

Jeg liker litt referanser til at Oliver og Tess hadde et slags forhold før. Jeg likte aldri Chloe og Oliver sammen noe særlig. Glad for litt forandring. Det er alltid velkomment når serien kommer med referanser til fortiden i det hele tatt, det skjer alt for sjelden. Jeg tror jaggu gutta i SHoE hadde rett i at det kommer til å bli litt småromanse mellom Tess og Oliver fram til Chloe kommer tilbake.

Men hvorfor i alle dager kyssa Lucy Clark? Jeg syntes det kom totalt ut av det blå, og ga null mening. Det var greit nok at episoden handlet om forholdet i Lane-familien, og at Lucy er "det slemme barnet", men det kysset ga liksom ingen mening. Det virka jo som at Lucy bare var ute etter å beskytte de andre, selv om det innebar å lyve litt. Men å plutselig bare hive seg over søsterens kjæreste sånn? Da jeg så traileren tenkte jeg at hun gjorde det på farens ordre eller noe sånt, men tydeligvis ikke.

Jeg likte også at Clark brukte den nye jakka si ute i felten for første gang. Ikke så gira på sveisen, men det er ikke så farlig.

Ellers var episoden helt ålreit, ganske humoristisk, men den manglet det store spenningselementet. Du bare visste at Clark kom til å klare å være kjappere enn den raketten. Men tenk at the Talon er sprengt i filler nå! Den har jo vært der helt siden starten. Jeg lurer veldig på hva det var Clark ville spørre generalen om men. Jeg trooor jeg har en anelse. Kommer virkelig Lois og Clark til å gifte seg før serien er over??

SUPERMAN: Earth One

Gikk til anskaffelse av "Superman: Earth One". Det var faktisk en av de bedre Supermann-tegneseriene jeg har lest på en stund! Jeg hadde lest på forhånd at serien ble mye omtalt som "Emo Superman" og "Twilight-Superman", men jeg syntes faktisk at den var helt ålreit. Men det var allikevel en del småting å plukke på som hindret historien fra å være helt perfekt:

Clark kaller seg Supermann selv. Neeei, nei, nei! Det gjør bare navnet pompøst og meningsløst. "Superman" er ikke et navn som en snill kar som Clark ville ha valgt selv. Jeg liker mye bedre den gamle, mest brukte varianten, hvor det er avisene som kaller ham det. Aviser er liksom troende til å finne på sånne navn. "Hello, my name is Superman, it's a name I made up myself" høres fantastisk oppblåst ut.

Clark og familien finner på S-symbolet selv. Nok en gang neeei. Da mister symbolet liksom mystikken og kraften. Det er så mye mer stilfullt at det er familiesymbolet hans, og at det bare tilfeldigvis likner på en S, og at det er derfor avisene døper ham Superman. Forklaringen Clark og Jonathan kom med, at det stod for "son" eller noe sånt, var bare teit.

Hårsveisen til Clark. Burde ikke henge meg opp i dilldall, men virkelig? Liker rufse-look bedre.

Liker ikke Lois. Liker ikke at hun totalt ignorerer Clark når han nettopp har fått jobb hos avisa. Ingen gjør sånn i virkeligheten! Det ville vært fantastisk frekt mot en ny ansatt. Ville heller likt at hun fornærma han litt på en spøkefull måte, ala Erica Durance. Jaa, jeg vet, jeg er for opphengt i Smallville.

Ellers var tegningene fine, om enn litt stive nå og da. Clarks personlighet var kanskje litt merkelig. (Artemis Fowl krysset med Clark på en mild utgave av Red K?) Det var mange flotte bilder igjennom historien, og jeg likte Clarks ferd mot å godta den han er, og å bli Supermann.

Jeg likte også delene helt i starten hvor Clark prøver å utnytte evnene sine til å få en bra jobb. Jeg hadde ikke noe problem med at supergluphet var en av evnene til Clark, men allikevel var det jo en lite offisiell evne da. Men det funka ålreit i historien. Fotballprøvene var artige!

Dialogen var litt småcheesy noen ganger kanskje, men det er nå sånn superhelt-tegneserier er. Romveseninnvasjons-plotet minnet meg litt om Birthright, men det var mye bedre utført her.

Stort sett var det noe som manglet for at jeg skulle sitte der og tenke "Wow!", men jeg likte den. Men fortsatt ikke klar for å godta den som ny origin-historie.

SMALLVILLE: Harvest

Ny helg, ny Smallville! Lois og Clark havner hos en mystisk gruppe amish-aktige mennesker ute i ingenting, og Tess prøver desperat å hindre at Alexander fortsetter å vokse i den hastigheten han gjør. Denne episoden var ikke så minneverdig som den forrige, men jeg likte den bedre enn Supergirl i alle fall. Etterdønningene etter Den Store Avsløringen kunne kanskje ha vært bedre utført, men stort sett var det en episode jeg likte.

Det første jeg tenkte var; "Hvor i alle dager kom den nye, sikkert svindyre bilen fra?" Lois og Clark kjører støtt rundt i nye biler. For eksempel den splitter nye picupen til Clark i Homecoming. De kan umulig tjene så mye penger som reportere? Clark drev dessuten og vraka biler før han hadde jobb til og med. :P

Jeg elsket den lille samtalen Clark og Lois hadde i starten om alt det rare som hadde skjedd. De er på vei for å dekke en festival et stykke unna Metropolis, fordi Clark vi ha Lois vekk fra de farlige anti-superhelt-aksjonene. De benytter tiden til å diskutere alt som Clark ikke kunne forklare før. Turen deres til fantomsonen, Doomsday... Men den burde ha vært så mye lenger!

Jeg skulle gjerne sett at Lois og Clark hadde en mye lengre diskusjon! Jeg syntes episoden kasta litt bort tiden med en overdrevet lang middag etc. Og jeg var litt trist for at vi aldri fikk se at Clark fortalte henne hva han egentlig er, hun bare visste det i denne episoden. Men jeg er glad for at det fortsatt var noen overraskende ting på lur for henne, som forklaringen bak blå kryptonitt. Jeg får heller se om det kommer noen fanfictions som kan fylle tomrommet! Eller håpe at de snakker mer senere.

De punkterer, Lois blir igjen hos en liten jente som selger saft ved veikanten mens Clark stikker for å finne nytt dekk. Når han kommer tilbake er Lois borte, og har blitt med jenta til en landsby. Landsbyen viser seg å være en gjeng med gærninger, som vil bruke Lois som et offer for å få bedre avlinger. Dessuten er det masse blå kryptonitt i vannet, så Clark mister kreftene sine rundt landsbyboerne.

I mellomtiden holder Tess på med å finne en kur for Lex sin lille klone. Fikk rent vondt inni meg av scenene mellom Tess og Alexander. Tess er så desperat etter å få gi denne lille gutten en ny sjanse, men hun klarer ikke å hindre at minnene til Lex dukker opp igjen, og til slutt er han stort sett blitt en liten Lex. Jeg fikk små frysninger av hvordan han snakker om at han og Clarks vennskap skulle bli "the stuff of legend". Brr.

Tilbake i ingentingland blir Clark slått bevisstløs av en landsbyboer, og Lois blir stengt inne sammen med ham for å vente på ofringen. Clark forklarer at han ikke har kreftene sine. De klarer å rømme, men de blir avslørt, og Clark blir stukket ned med en ljå, og blir begravd som død.

Men med en gang landsbyfolkene går sin vei ser vi at bakken begynner å lyse, og en hånd stikker opp igjennom jorda i beste Halloween-stil! Lois prøver i mellomtiden å overtale landsbyen til å la være å ofre henne ved å brenne henne med blå kryptonitt-flammer fra oven, men lederen deres har bedre talegaver, og de gjør seg klare til å brenne henne. Clark dukker opp med et gevær, men de drar i spaken for å slippe ned ilden, og Clark løper mot Lois, og rekker akkurat å ta i mot ilden for henne.

Her var det en liten logisk brist synes jeg. Clark brenner ryggen sin voldsomt, men er stort sett ok, og reiser seg opp og ser på landsbyboerne. Hvordan var Clark i så fin stand etter å ha skjermet Lois mot flammer av blå kryptonitt? De samme flammene skulle jo ha drept Lois, hvorfor er han i live (med brent rygg) etter å ha bli truffet av brennende blå kryptonitt, som gjør ham like sårbar som henne? Jeg hadde likt det bedre om det var vanlige flammer som traff ham. Da hadde det vært mer logisk at han bare ble halvveis skadet etter å ha bli truffet av dem, siden landsbyfolkene stod et passelig stykke unna. Hm.

Men jeg likte det som skjedde etterpå. Landsbyfolkene blir sjokkert av at Clark er i såpass stand, og alle rygger noen skritt unna. En av dem roper at det er et tegn! Lois kaster et blikk på Clark og ser at ryggen hans begynner å helbrede seg selv, nå som avstanden til landsbyfolkene øker. Hun begynner å "legge mer ved på ilden" ved å forklare dem at Clark er sendt fra himmelen:

Lois: Yes, it's a sign! Move back, way back, far away from him. You are not worthy to be in his presence. Drop your weapon and beg for forgiveness. No, I don't think you get it. He is a messenger, sent from the heavens.
Mr. Cavanagh: I don't believe you.
Clark: Lois...
Lois: Oh, you better believe it. Because if you don't listen, he will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger. And he will use his... his heat vision to raze your village! And his... superbreath to smite your crops!
Clark: Amen.

Måtte flire litt av Clarks "Amen. (Nå er det nok, Lois)" Ryggen til Clark lyser opp, og er nå helt ok. Lois spør Clark, “What do you say you speed us away from these children of the corn, honey?” Han løfter henne opp i armene sine, ser på landsbyen et øyeblikk, og med et svisj er de borte. Landsbyboerne faller samtidig i kne i sjokk.

Tilbake i Smallville gir Clark Lois Swann sin dagbok så hun kan vite mer om Krypton. Landsbyen har blitt dømt for mord. Clark forteller at Lois er "The One", og de har sex for første gang. (Eller andre gang for Lois, om du teller pandora) Nydelig scene hvor de griper hverandres hender. :)

Vi skifter til Alexander, som står foran et speil og barberer av seg håret. Han ser på seg selv, har blitt helt skallet, og smiler et lite smil til speilet. Gah! Ved å gjøre dette bygger forfatterne av serien så veldig opp til at Rosenbaum skal komme tilbake i slutten av sesongen og overta! Jeg kommer til å bli så skuffet om han ikke gjør det etter denne oppbyggingen... Det hadde vært så perfekt om han bare kunne komme tilbake for en episode eller to... På den måten ville Smallville virkelig "come full circle". Kom igjeeen, Rosenbaum...

Stillingen for favorittepisoder er nå:

Homecoming på første plass, på grunn av den fantastiske flyve/danse-scenen på slutten. Jeg hadde veldig trøbbel med å velge mellom denne og Isis, men Homecoming vinner fordi Isis hadde såpass kjedelig hovedplot.
Isis på andreplass, på grunn av Den Store Avsløringen på slutten. Selve episoden var så som så, men den slutten var så fantastisk at den rykker episoden oppover.
Lazarus på tredje plass. Den har rykket opp denne gangen fordi jeg er mer gira på at jeg vil ha tilbake Rosenbaum! Og fordi jeg gråt da Jonathan dukket opp, og fordi Lois får se Clark bruke superkreftene sine for første gang.
Shield på fjerde, fordi jeg elsket Lois sin babling om Clark, og hele "mystisk snikskytter"-temaet var skikkelig spennende, og jeg gleder meg til oppfølgelsen til disse sporingene.
Harvest på femte. En helt ålreit episode, men fordi andre episoder var mer ålreit, så kommer denne et stykke nede på lista.
Supergirl på siste, fordi ugh, dårlige spesialeffekter og alt for mye bondage. Liten pluss for Clarks nesten suksessfulle flyving.

Smallville: ISIS

"Carpe Diem, Lois. You can do this. And by tomorrow, you will be living in a brand new world."

Å, Smallville, hvorfor elsker jeg deg så? La meg telle grunnene... Jeg hadde egentlig tenkt å bare skrive et kjapt innlegg, og så se ferdig resten av Chuck-episodene jeg har, men selv en ukes Chuck-besettelse må vike når Smallville er på banen igjen. Må jeg få si at sesong 10 er fantastisk?! Jeg får rent sjokk av slik framgang! Jeg har blitt vant til at Ting Tar litt Tid i denne serien. Clark og Lois har kanskje tatt seg sin tid de også, men er det mulig med en så fantastisk sesong! Jeg er helt ute av meg jeg...

For å få det ut av veien først, så var hovedplottet i episoden ganske så som så. Ganske middels egentlig. Jeg likte at Cat var tilbake. Jeg digger henne. Mange av fansen hater henne, men hun er jo så fantastisk søt! La meg ta for meg alt annet enn Clois først:

Oliver: Oliver var morsom i denne episoden, men han bør virkelig ta det litt penere med furtinga si. Men uansett. Jeg likte samtalen han hadde med Clark i starten:

Clark: I saw the future... recently.
Oliver: Now, that's officially the biggest news I've heard all day. You know you sound crazy when you talk like that, right?

Jeg flirer stort av hvordan Oliver alltid er der for å gjøre narr av hvor mye rart Clark opplever og sier. Som da de lette etter Jor-El i Kandor og han var forvirra over Clarks bruk av Dad/Father/Jor-El. Eller som replikken om Clarks heat vision senere i episoden. Mer om det senere.

Dette gjelder ikke helt direkte Olivers karakter, men jeg synes at forfatterne av serien ignorerer Jimmy totalt. Oliver er for mye i Watchtower og sturer. Det var Jimmy som kjøpte Watchtower, damnit! Det burde ikke bli brukt som et symbol på Oliver og Chloe som et par! Og Chloe sier at hun aldri har elsket noen så høyt som Oliver? Og de leser dette i Watchtower, som Jimmy kjøpte i bryllupsgave til Chloe?? Way to stomp on someone's grave, people.

Tess: Tess var fantastisk i denne episoden. Jeg skulle ønske hun ikke benektet at Alexander var sønnen hennes. Jeg elsket latteren hennes. Hvordan hun satt sammen med Alexander og leste var nydelig. At hun gråt etter å ha fått Clark og Olivers tilitt var så innmari rørende! Og hun beholder fortsatt sitt bitchy image! Gogo Tess!

Cat: Er supersøt, superdum, gjør de samme feilene om igjen, og jeg digger henne. I små doser så klart. Elsket den lille nesten-chickfighten med Lois. Selv om det var fryktelig dumt å stabbe Lois med en kulepenn. Men hun var overbevist om at hun var kriminell så. Jeg synes litt synd på henne når Clark drar Lois vekk og hun står igjen. Håper hun blir venner med de andre senere. Jeg vet ikke hvorfor jeg liker henne så godt. Kanskje jeg kjenner meg igjen i et annet blondt surrehue. ^^

Isis: Meh. Det var en ålreit idé for å fylle en hel episode, og for å motivere Clark til å ta det siste skrittet. Det jeg trodde var kryptonitt-tau var heldigvis ikke det. Takk og lov! Det hadde vært teit. Når det ble nevnt at sollys igjennom amuletten ville fange Isis igjen ante jeg smått at det ville ha noe med Clark å gjøre, men jeg så det ikke helt komme at han skulle bruke heat vision på den. Så heat vision er det samme som sollys? Jaja, jeg kan godta det. Likte Olivers follow-up-kommentar (til Tess): "That's right. Other than our solar-powered friend over here, doing that cool eyeball, zzapp-trough-the-amulet-thing that he did, we couldn't have done it without you."

Men! Alt det der ble totalt overskygga av:

Clois: Forrige uke døde jeg og havna i Clois-himmelen. Denne uka ble jeg gjenoplivet, bare for å dø nok en gang og havne der igjen! Jeg trodde jeg skulle bli snytt for moroa sånn som Smallville vanligvis pleier å gjøre, men sesong 10 er ikke som vanlige dødelige sesonger! Hooboy. Episoden starter med at Lois babler i vei foran speilet og prøver å finne ut hvordan hun skal fortelle Clark at hun vet om ham. Så skjer alt dette med amuletten og Isis. Eller vent, først har hun og Clark et artig øyeblikk på the Daily Planet hvor han gir henne et artig, internt tegn med hånda for å fortelle at de skal møtes på taket om fem min. Jeg elsker sånne små ting som gir karakterene sjel!

Men i hvertfall, Lois er seg selv igjen, og hun har en krangel med Cat Grant ved skrivebordene, hvor hun stikker hånda til Lois med en kulepenn fordi hun tror hun er the Blur. Lois holder på å dra til henne, Clark bryter inn. "Ladies. Who wants to go first?" De kjefter en stund, Clark ødelegger telefonen til Cat med bevis for Lois sine Isis-eskapader. Han griper Lois og drar henne med seg.

De er på postrommet. Clark bandasjerer hånda til Lois. (Trengte han å bandasjere hele? Nuvel) De snakker sammen om the Blur. Clark virker ikke så motivert for å fortelle henne som han var tidligere. Lois dropper ganske tydelige hint om hva hun vet. Clark tar dem tydeligvis ikke. Lois sier "What I'm trying to say to you is that... I know you." Clark svarer: "But you don't know the Blur. He's probably keeping it a secret for a reason." Jeg kjenner jeg blir skuffa. Han feiger ut. Han kommer ikke til å si det. Lois merker visst det samme, for hun sier, "he's never going to tell me, is he." Hun går mot heisdøra. Det henger en viss "det er over"-stemning i lufta.

Men så begynner Clark å snakke. Pulsen min stiger i taket mens han forteller.

All my life I've been afraid, Lois. Afraid of people knowing the truth about me. Afraid of them rejecting me, and even if they didn’t, still losing them. I’ve been afraid of everything I can’t control. But when I was faced with the idea of losing you forever it made me realise there’s something I would regret more than anything else - and that’s not telling you the truth about me. Because that’s the only way we could share a life together. I know the odds are stacked against us and we’d be risking everything, but if you’re ready to take that leap, there’s no one else I’d want to take that leap with.
Lois, you’ve had a lot of questions about the Blur…
It’s me.
I’m the Blur.

Det er det flotteste jeg har hørt Clark si på 10 år. Det er ikke en pompøs superhelt-tale, det bare omtaler hvordan Clark har følt seg siden han var femten. Kommer folk til å godta meg? Hva om de dør for å beskytte hemmeligheten min? Hvorfor kan jeg ikke redde alle? Og det er så respektfult mot Lois! Det viser virkelig hvor mye han setter pris på henne. Her kan man se hvordan Lois er så mye bedre enn Lana. Han forteller henne det av egen fri vilje. Hun sårer ham ikke. Hun er så perf--- okei, hehe, jeg skal gi meg med å være så jentete. Men Lois er en mye mer sunn, energisk jente som passer så mye bedre for vår helt.

Lois lyser opp. Hun smiler stort, og kaster seg over Clark så voldsomt at de faller bakover og lander på postsekkene. Noe konfetti fyker i været. Hun kysser ham, smiler igjen, og sier:

What took you so long?

Clark blir forvirret og begynner smått å kommentere. "What? ...you--" Hun avbryter ham ved å plassere en finger over leppene hans, gliser, og Clark følger opp med et fantastisk nusselig, dorky smil. Guud som jeg elsker disse to!

Nå er jeg spent på om etterdønningene går bra, og om de er tilfredsstillende. De er nødt til å diskutere en del ting. For eksempel hva Clark egentlig er. Lois kan da ikke vite det? Det hadde gjort hele greia så perfekt. Det hadde vært så moro om hun begynner å bable i vei om at han er meteorinfisert, og han på awkward Clark-vis forklarer sannheten.

Gleder meg til neste episodeee! Det er "Harvest", som tydeligvis er en type Halloween-episode.

SMALLVILLE: Homecoming (ep 200!)

Clark og Lois drar på Smallville Highs klassegjenforening. Lois er misfornøyd fordi ingen husker hennes 5 dager som elev der. Clark er misfornøyd med hvordan livet hans er for tiden, og Brainiac 5 dukker opp og tar ham med igjennom fortiden, nåtiden og fremtiden for å vise ham hva det er som holder ham tilbake.

Har jeg lov til å skrive en anmeldelse med et så uprofesjonelt utrykk som "Huuuhæææhuuuuweeeeee..."? For en fantastisk episode! Hvis jeg skal pirke, så er det litt småcheesy med sånne episoder som viser klipp fra tidligere episoder, men denne episoden var bare nyyyhhyyhyydelig! Jeg gråt på minst to-tre forskjellige steder. Jeg tror faktisk ikke jeg har noe større å klage på med denne episoden. Det er lenge siden sist!

Først og fremst fikk jeg sommerfugler i magen av å se igjen Smallville High. Når så vi det settet sist? Sesong 4..? Det er lenge siden! Jeg ble litt forvirra av den merkelige voodoo-rektoren på skolen men. Hva i alle dager? Hun satt der en stund og prata med seg selv, så kom Brainiac og "fiksa på henne", og så kom hun og klemte Clark, og vips så så vi ikke mer til henne. Sært.

Clark titter innom Torch-kontoret, og ser den tomme plassen for "The Wall of Weird". Han og Lois møter et par unge elever som er store fans av Chloe, og lurer på hvor hun ble av. De viser dem at veggen til Chloe nå er interaktiv og ligger på nettet. Aww, så koselig å se at det er to nye Chloe-er ute og går. Mystisk at the Torch så så forlatt ut men. Greit nok at veggen er interaktiv, men de bruker vel kontoret for det?

Flira godt av uttrykket i fjeset til Clark når han ble satt på en trone sammen med Lois midt i foramlingen. Åå, så kjedelig. ^^ Fantastisk bra utført av Tom Welling. Mens han sitter der får han øye på et kjent fjes i forsamlingen, Greg Arkin, "Insektsgutten" fra sesong 1. Brått stopper tiden for alle andre enn Clark. Brainiac dukker opp og tar med seg Clark. Litt lite trolig at en hel folkemengde ikke legger merke til at senteret i forsamlingen bare forsvinner, men pytt.

Vi får se begravelsen til Jonathan igjen, og øyeblikket da han dør, og Brainiac forklarer at det er alt som Clark gir seg selv skylden for som er "mørket" inni ham. Jeg likte sammenlikningen med at det var Jonathans eget valg at han tok vare på Clark, likedan som at Clark tar vare på verden.

De tar også en titt innom nåtiden, og vi får se et rørende øyeblikk hvor Oliver sitter og ser på TV og sliter med ettervirkningene av valget han tok i forrige episode. Han spør om det har kommet inn noen nye samtaler, og det er tydelig at han venter på en fra Clark. Clark ser på. "He's always so...Oliver, that I didn't know he needed me."

De hopper så tilbake til Reunion-festen og ser på en ensom Lois som snakker med dama som selger punsj. Dette kvinnemensket har tydeligvis null sosiale antenner, og begynner og bable om hvor perfekte Chloe og Lana var for Clark. "Everything" av Lifehouse spiller i bakgrunnen! Brainiac forteller Clark at "You spend so much time dwelling on the darkness of what happened in the past, you're missing the present that's right in front of your eyes." Greg Arkin går bort til Lois og sier han har en beskjed til Clark Kent. Clark griper ringen til Brainiac for å kunne stoppe ham, men blir sendt alene avgårde til the Daily Planet.

Og her starter det mye moro! Vi får se en avis hvor det står "Superman saves the day". Han er i fremtiden! Han støter på framtids-Lois, som bosser Clark inn i en av disse telefonkioskene de har der og lurer på hvorfor han ikke har på seg brillene sine. Heldigvis har hun et ekstra par. Og hun kaller Clark "honey"! ^^ Random øyeblikk følger, hvor et par ser på Clark og sier "I told you it wasn't him. It's just the guy from the eight floor."

Jeg veeet det er den klassiske supermannforkledningen, men jeg syntes det var litt malplassert at de synes han likner på supermann i de samme klærne tidligere, men ikke når han tar på et par briller, og ikke endrer noe annet? Feh, whatever.

Lois bosser Clark litt videre rundt, det er litt forvekslinger av skrivebord, Clark prøver å forklare ting for Lois, hun tror ikke på ham, dytter ham inn i en heis, og gir tegn til at han må se til å ha på seg brillene sine! Inne i heisen sier en kjent stemme, "Quite a handful, isn't she?"

Gaaak! Framtids-Clark står der i heisen, og ser veldig så Clark Kent ut, med briller og tilbakegredd hår og frakk og hele pakka. Umm. Squeee? :D Jeg likte hvordan han ser ut. Det er litt dumt at Tom Welling har et såpass karakteristisk utseende, men han ser i alle fall annerledes ut! Me like. Framtids-Clark ber Clark komme seg opp på taket, for han kan ikke være to steder på en gang.

Oppe på taket er Lois i trøbbel, og vi får en "Superman the Movie"-aktig scene hvor Clark stopper et helikopter med Lois i fra å falle. Framtids-Lois og Clark er fantastisk søte sammen, før hun går, og Brainiac kommer og tar med seg Clark igjen.

Vi er tilbake til nåtiden igjen, hvor Greg Arkin forteller Lois at han har en beskjed til Clark. "You know, Clark is the reason a lot of us are still here. I kinda... got caught up in my web of obsession, and he set me straight. There's not every place that has a hometown hero like Clark Kent. Just tell him. Tell him thank you." Og her kom tårene. Jeg kjenner jeg blir varm i øya mens jeg skriver dette også jeg. Det var så fantastisk rørende. Jeg forventa nesten at han skulle komme å lage bråk, og så får vi dette i steden. Sniff. Og alt med Lifhouse-musikken i bakgrunnen. Nostalgia-overdose! Det er så flott å se at ikke alle metor-infiserte er fullstendig slemme.

Clark blir "sluppet fri" og går bort til Lois, som regner med at han har vært og reddet noen. De får danset sammen littegrann før musikken plutselig stopper, og det blir ropt opp at gjenforeningen er ferdig for denne gang. Clark unnskylder seg.

Vi får så se at Clark står ved farens grav i den nye supermann-jakka si. Han snakker til faren sin, og forteller hvordan han nå må ta vare på de som trenger ham akkurat nå, og at han altid vil ha Smallville med seg. "You will be with me wherever I go. But I have to say the one thing I never could." Jeg ser hva som kommer. Clark river løs en bit med jord ved grava, og putter klokka til faren under den. "Goodbye, dad."

Her triller tårene nok en gang. Ikke fullt så ille som Jonathan's eget farvel i "Vengeance", men verre enn da han og Clark snakka sammen enn i Lazarus. Så fantastisk trist og rørende. Jeg håper at Clarks "vei" framover vil være opplyst etter dette, for å si det sånn. Denne episoden var perfekt for å fjerne Clarks tvil, og det ville være ille om han får den tilbake igjen før serien er over.

Vi får så se at Oliver gjør seg klar for et intervju med dama han så på TV tidligere i episoden. Hun spør ham hvorfor han gjør det han gjør. Oliver sliter med svaret før han ser Clark gå inn og stå i døråpningen bak intervjueren. De ser på hverandre et øyeblikk, og Oliver finner ny inspirasjon, og gir et bra svar, som også inneholder et smart lite hint til Batman. Han forteller om Kennedy som sa "It's not about what your country can do for you, it's about what you can do for your country."

Clark hører på, smiler, og finner tydeligvis litt inspirasjon selv. "In this world of armchair bloggers, who created a generation of critics instead of leaders, I'm actually doing something! Right here. Right now. For the city. For my country." Han ser opp på Clark, og de gir hverandre et lite smil. "And I'm not doing it alone. You're damn right I'm a hero."

Tilbake på Smallville High får "Chloes etterfølgere" en tekstmelding hvor det står "Glad to see you're carrying my Torch -- CS". Jeg er glad for at vi får små hint til at Chloe fortsatt er der ute et sted. Og vi bør helst få en ordentlig god forklaring på hvorfor hun måtte holde seg unna. Kanskje hun holder på å motarbeide the Suicide Squad? Hun så jo framtiden, så hun vet nok hva hun driver med.

Lois dukker opp i låven til Clark hvor det er helt mørkt. En discokule starter å spinne og musikk slås på. Clark dukker opp, og har planlagt å ta igjen dansen som ble avbrutt på gjenforeningen. Hun sier at hun forstår. Clark sier han har savnet henne. De danser, Lois står på føttene hans så han ikke skal tråkke på henne.

De danser rundt og er fantastisk søte, og Clark sier uten noe om og men: "I Love you.". Lois smiler, og svarer "I love you too." Så fantastisk nydelig! Så deilig å slippe det typiske TV-dramaet hvor den ene ikke klarer å si at de elsker den andre. De danser videre, Lois lener seg inntil Clark, og sier "There's something we need to talk about.". Clark svarer "Just for now, can we leave tomorrow untill tomorrow, and just have this?" Hun samtykker, og lukker øynene.

Og tror du ikke han letter fra bakken med Lois stående på føttene hans??!! Han svever litt over bakken, og der slutter episoden. Og tårene kom igjen. Jeg tuta!

Jeg elsket hele episoden. Framtids-Clark og Lois, gjenforeningen, glimtene fra fortiden, fremtiden, nåtiden, Clois-øyeblikkene, flyvingen, Clark med krone, Brainiac... Dette er en av de beste episodene så langt. Full pott! Terningkast 6++! Jeg blir rent svimmel hver gang jeg tenker på den siste scenen!

Sammentreff i "Chuck"

Jeg satte meg ned for å se på TV nå nettopp. Klikka meg igjennom kanallista, og så at "Chuck" gikk på Viasat 4. Det har jeg aldri fulgt med på, men jeg har hørt om det via Smallville-nyhetssider siden Kristin Kreuk hadde en rolle der, så jeg tenkte at jeg skulle titte innom. Kanskje jeg fikk se noen kjente fjes.

Jeg skrur på - boom! Der er Brandon Routh! :D Et lite øyeblikk etterpå dukker Kristin Kreuk opp også. Jeg bare håpa på å kanskje få et glimt av noen kjente, og så fikk jeg den episoden hvor Brandon var med også! ^^ (For ikke å snakke om at de kalte ham for "that Superman type".)

Samtidig fant jeg ut at jeg har hørt om denne serien før. At det var den serien som fetteren min fortalte meg om, "om en fyr som får en database om spioner lastet ned i hjernen sin". Jeg syntes det hørtes litt interessant ut, men fikk aldri surra meg til å se på det. Ante ikke at det var Chuck han snakka om. Trodde det var en komedie jeg. Tror jeg har funnet noe nytt å se på!

SMALLVILLE: Supergirl

Kara dukker opp i Metropolis i et Supergirl-kostyme-i-startfasen, og Lois kommer seg hjem fra Afrika. Den mystiske svarte røyken besetter superhelt-motstanderen Godfrey. Clark får flyvetimer igjen, Lois beskytter (unødvendig) Olivers identitet, og Clark sliter med diverse indre demoner. Inneholder obligatorisk halvnaken Oliver, og Lois blir nok en gang slått bevisstløs og havner i livsfare.

Jeg likte ikke helt tittelvalget på denne episoden (en smule... banalt i forhold til tidligere titler), men ellers var episoden ok. Den hadde masse fine Clois-øyeblikk, en del fetisj-fanservice, en lenge savnet karakter, men ikke akkurat de beste spesialeffektene jeg har sett.

The Goods:
Først og fremst fikk jeg et anfall av sommerfugler i magen, vondt i smilemusklene, tær som krølla seg og stort sett en stor dose dopamin i systemet mitt av øyeblikket mellom Lois og Clark i starten! Så fantastisk søtt og sjarmerende! Lois går opp bak Clark og sier noe, og han smiler, før han snur seg og klemmer henne. Awww!

For ikke å snakke om hvordan Clark babler og stammer når han skal forklare hvorfor han sa at hun burde dra til Afrika! Så fantastisk bra utført. Jeg er imponert over hvor bra Tom klarer å låte naturlig fomlete når han spiller.

Kara tok seg bra ut i det nye kostymet sitt, selv om det var en smule unødvendig med bar midje. Jeg vet at det skulle være en slags forløper til supergirl-kostymet, men det så bare... fryktelig hjemmelaget ut. Likte bedre de klærne hun gikk i resten av episoden.

Jeg likte også at Lois faktisk kjente igjen Kara når hun dukker opp. Det hadde liksom vært så typisk om ingen visste hvem hun var. "Isn't that your cousin, Clark?" Jeg likte også måten Clark takler dette på. Han er nødt til å inrømme at det er kusina hans så klart, og at hun har superkrefter, men han snakker det bort med at hun er meteor-infisert. Etter dette følger også en av de beste replikkene i hele episoden:

I wish someone would figure out where she flew off to. ...I can't believe I just said that out loud.

Grunnen til at akkurat denne replikken var så fantastisk var fordi den egentlig kan tolkes på to måter, ut i fra om man vet om Clarks krefter eller utenomjordiske opphav. Til en som ikke vet om alt dette kan han ha ment "Oi, jeg kan ikke tro at kusina mi har superkrefter", og til en som vet, vil det ha betydd "Jeg kan ikke tro at jeg faktisk kan snakke om dette høyt." Me like. Lois må ha hørt den doble betydningen.

Kara gir Clark flygetimer igjen, og holy crap, Clark fløy! Det var nok en gang litt antiklimatisk siden han falt, men pah. Han fløy, han fløy, han fløøøøy.

Endelig fikk vi bedre innsikt i Darkseids karakter også. Han minner ikke noe om den originale versjonen fra tegneseriene, men det får gå. Jeg likte framgangen i Karas forklaring på hvorfor hun måtte prøve og slå "the darkness" i stedet for Clark. Kara mener at Darkseid vil besette Clark fordi han ikke er "pure of heart" akkurat nå.

The Bads:
Spesialeffektene i denne episoden var forferdelige. Det så ikke realistisk ut i det hele tatt. Lyssettingen oppe på vindmølla så helt merkelig ut, og scenen hvor Kara stopper skiltet fra å falle så plastikkaktig ut. Jeg klarte bare ikke å ta det seriøst når det så så dataanimert ut! Supergirl-scenen led av dette, scenen på vindmølla led av alt for stort greenscreen-preg! Du kunne se alt for tydelig at de ikke var der i virkeligheten. Skjerpings! Min evne til suspension of disbelief er stor, men ett sted går det en grense.

Scenene på "Club Desaad" (Jeg tok referansen!) hadde jeg heller ikke noe sansen for. Overdreven fetisj-fanservice. Jeg skal ikke være prippen, men jeg syntes at de kunne kutta masse ned på de scenene. Alt for mye lær og pisking og bondage.

For ikke å snakke om at Lois nok en gang blir slått bevisstløs, OG bundet dramatisk opp i noe rødt stoff og sakte kvelt og bah. "Supergirl: The bondage episode" burde heller episoden hett. Jeg likte det meste med episoden, men det greiene der var unødvendig.

Og, jeg vet at det er å plukke, men episoden burde ha hett noe annet. Skal de kalle finaleepisoden Superman da eller? Jeg liker at de andre episodenavnene som oftest har litt "kultiverte" titler. De er ikke "in your face" om hva episoden skal handle om. Noen ganger har de jo episoder som heter Ryan, Lexmas, Krypto, Kara etc, men som oftest heter de jo ting som Prodigal, Precipice, Descent, Commencement, Exodus osv. Jeg liker bedre de mer mystiske titlene. Supergirl er bare... Ikke classy.

Grublerier:
Jeg kan ikke helt skjønne hva det er som plager Clark bortsett fra Jor-El. Hva er det han tviler sånn for? Det eneste som plager ham er vel at Jor-El ikke tror på ham, og Jor-El tror ikke på ham fordi han "ikke er klar". Har vi en ond sirkel her? Uansett skjønner jeg at Kara mente hun måtte slåss mot Darkseid/The Darkness selv, hvis det kan besette folk med tvil, men... har ikke hun masse tvil og issues selv? Eller, hun sa jo at de som har "a true sense of purpose" ikke kunne besettes. Det passer på Lois i alle fall, så da får det gå for Kara også. Meeen jeg tror vi får en del forklaring i neste ukes episode på hva som plager Clark.

Og så Oliver da. Jeg vet ikke hva jeg synes om hans "Tony Stark-moment". Hva for noe godt kan det komme ut av at han avslører seg som the Green Arrow? Og så var det fryktelig utaknemlig av ham etter alt Lois gjorde for å beskytte ham. Men han visste jo ikke det da. Mon tro hva som skjer videre.

Kara kommer vel ikke til å dukke opp noe mer resten av serien. Det er litt dumt, for ut i fra det hun sa om at det er hun som skal slåss mot denne fienden, så virker det jo som om hun og Clarks veier burde krysses, siden vi vet at det blir Clark som beseirer det til slutt. Men jaja, det blir vel forklart på noe vis.

Dette var en halvt fantastisk, halvt forferdelig episode. Hadde bondage-delene blitt kutta ut hadde episoden vært flott. :)

Shield. Lois sin babling om Clark. Mystiske kuler og Suicide Squad. Søt Cat Grant.
Lazarus. "And now... the final season of Smallville". Lex. Scarecrow. Callbacks. Jonathan Kent! Fikk meg til å gråte.
Supergirl. Kara. Clark flyr. Søte Clois-øyeblikk. Hadde havnet høyere oppe, var det ikke for all bondagen.

The new Superman movie

So, I just found out that the director for the new superman movie has been announced. Don't know who the guy is, but I'll let other people worry about his style. I just wanted to write something down about what they need to update in this version!!

1. Update the look.
Don't make everything fit with the Christopher Reeve-films! Do something new! The old movies work for what they was. New superman! He has been outdated for a long time, and will never work with the generic audience unless he gets a new style! I didn't like the style of SR. They dressed in kind of old clothes, but used computers and cellphones. It's okay to give a nod to Reeve of course, but we need an update!

New Suit! He can still keep the cape, but what's wrong with... let's say, give him a costume made of a thicker fabric, and remove the briefs. Kind of like the leather of Green Arrow's costume on Smallville? Tights is just so... stupid. No superheroes wear it on the big screen anymore! Look at Batman, X-men...

Absolutly no spit curl. Come on. It has been outdated for ages. And it looked TERRIBLE on Brandon Routh.

2. Good personalities.
Clark can be a bit nerdy of course, but he needs to have a life. God! I know his seret identity is hard to pull off, but that's one part I don't want to change. I really liked Clak on Lois & Clark, and of course, it's no secret how much I love Smallville. What about making him a bit nerdy, but still let him be able to talk to people, and have fun with Lois Lane? I adore the shy way Welling portrayed him in the beginning.

Lois should be more like Erica Durance's Lois. There, I said it. Smallville's Lois is just so much fun! She talks fast, drinks guys under the table, calls her father "general", calls Clark "Smallville"... she has a personality, and attitude. I love her. If there was a woman who could make me start "pitching for the other team", it's her. God, I love Durance-Lois. ^^

3. More interesting villain.
No more Lex. Unless you do something more interesting with him than, "Surrounds himself with stupid people. Tries to take over the world/make some of his own, and tries to kill superman". I loved the look we got into his head in Smallville. Much more fun to follow him as a villain when you know what drives him.

No more Zod. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Zod, I even concidered buying a t-shirt with "Kneeeel before Zod!" on it, but he's been over used. He's appeared twice in Smallville! And he's in the old films!

4. Make it for the guys too!
More action (but still a lot of romance!) Superman Returns was for the girls. It was! Way too much romance, not enough action or suspense. I loved many parts of hit and hated some parts of it. I've read blogs where there's a looot of hate for SR. :P I know that the main fanbase is male. But look at me, I'm a huge fan! There's probably a lot more like me out there. I loved the romance, but I need a better plot and some action too. (God, I love Smallville...)

SMALLVILLE: Shield

Holy crap, for en fantastisk, mystisk, super, forvirrende episode! Jeg vet ikke helt hva jeg syntes om slutten og Clarks "Patriotiske Posering", men jeg kommer til det senere. Dette var en av de beste episodene på lenge!

Episoden handler kort sagt om Lois' møte med Carter Hall i Egypt, Clark som møter, krangler med og beskytter sin nye partner Catherine, Oliver som leter etter den forsvunne Chloe, og en mystisk hit-man som er etter Clark.

Først og fremst, favorittdelen min med denne episoden var Lois sin babling om hvordan det må være å være Clark:

Lois: I have to admit, this assignment; a little out of my strike zone. I mean, I was raised by a very grounded four-star general who believed in what you can see, touch... blow up....
Carter: Things that can be explained.
Lois: Its just... you can live your whole life without proof of something, like a... god or whatever, and then one day you look up and realize, the guy sitting across from you is... Ra.
Carter: ...you think the guy sitting across from you is an ancient sun god?
Lois: No! Of course not. ...but what if he were? One minute you know you know what you know, and then the next you realize you don't really know anything, but you wanna know everything! What is the world like for him? Does he feel pain? How does he heal? When does he sleep? Does he even sleep?
Carter: This is gonna require something stronger than tea... (finner en flaske med noe sterke saker mens Lois durer videre)
Lois: How can he stand driving in a car when they move so much slower than he does? ...that would drive me crazy!
Carter: Maybe you should just ask Clark. Now... (sjenker i glassene, og holder det ene opp i en skål) Why don't you sit down... before you drive me crazy.

Dette er hele essensen i hvorfor jeg ser på Smallville! Jeg elsker hvordan Lois skravler i vei om hvor mye hun lurer på om Clark. De burde ha litt mer sånn innsikt i hvordan de andre karakterene ser på Clark. Instant favorite.

Cat Grant hade stort potensiale til å bli fantastisk irriterende, men jeg likte henne. Utrolig nusselig. Og jeg likte måten forholdet mellom henne og Clark utviklet seg igjennom episoden. Dessuten synes jeg det var flott at hun nevner "No relation to the woman on TV. I get that a lot." når hun presenterer seg, siden serien så vidt introduserte en karakter som også het Catherine (Grant) i forrige sesong. Tror nok det var en tabbe fra produsentene, men jeg likte det at de forklarte det på denne måten!

"After the lab techs pulled apart the bullet and re-assembled it, they found this.
Guess our assasin never was after Hello Kitty."

Plottet med snikskytteren Deadshot likte jeg også. Jeg tok det for gitt at det var Cat han var etter når de viste bokstavene på kula, og så det ikke komme at bokstavene også matchet bokstavene i navnet til Clark! Jeg var veldig mystifisert over hvorfor han var ute etter å skyte Clark med en vanlig kule før vi fikk vite helt til slutt at det var en slags sporing. Oo... Green Arrow og Hawkman blir merket på samme måte.

The question is... hvordan i alle dager har han fått laga denne?

Og - Hoi. Clark får endelig en ny drakt! Dette er det beste screenshotet jeg får til, for han ser stort sett fryktelig dum ut i denne siste scenen i episoden. Jeg er glad for at han endelig dropper de mørke fargene, men haha. ^^ Snakker om dramatisk helte-posering. (Men wee, rødt!) Jeg forventa nesten at han skulle fly avgårde her, siden han holder billetten til Egypt i hånda, men tydeligvis ikke.

Uansett var dette en fantastisk bra episode, og jeg skal ikke dømme den i det hele tatt for Patriotisk Posering. Lois sin dialog var herlig. Introduksjonen av Suicide Squad var mystisk og spennende. Kulene til Deadshot var kule (fnis)! Cat Grant var ikke så teit som jeg trodde hun skulle bli! Episoden var absolutt på linje med episode 2 fra forrige sesong, Metallo!

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

Har sett enda en ny "DC Animated Film", denne gangen filmversjonen av Superman/Batman: Supergirl! Fantastisk var den ikke, men bedre enn Crisis at Two Earths i alle fall.

Kort sagt så handler filmen om hvordan Supergirl - Kara Zor-El - først dukker opp på jorda. Hun mangler minner, og Batman mener hun kan være en trussel. Kara trener hos amazonene på Themyscira, og ender opp med å bli kidnappet og hjernevasket av Darkseid for å lede troppene hans. Supermann synes ikke noe sæærlig om dette. De redder henne og får henne tilbake, men mer slåssing følger, og hun ender opp i Supergirl-uniformen til slutt.

Hva jeg likte:
Kara snakker Kryptoniansk. Dette må da være første gang språket på Krypton har blitt uttalt noe sted? Ganske sikker på at det bare har vært vist som skriftspråk før. Det første Kara sier låt egentlig litt for mye som spansk, men samtalen hun har med Supermann etterpå låt mye bedre.

Supermann brenner Doomsdayklonene til ingenting. Det var kaanskje litt tullete at han ikke kom på å gjøre det med en gang de fant ut at de ikke blødde (...ergo, ikke i live?), men uansett ble det jo vist at det tok hardt på når han var ferdig. Bad ass øyeblikk uansett!

Supermann og Wonder Woman lander i et helt vanlig nabolag for å låne noe av Big Barda. Naboene glor. ;D Batman har så klart sneket seg inn usett, Batman-style. Sheez.

Clark og Kara kjører forbi det eksakt samme skiltet som man ser i den første episoden av Smallville på vei til Kentgården. Det med "Creamed Corn Capital of the World". Det hadde vært litt mer stas om det var det andre skiltet med "Meteor Capital", men det får gå! Kent-gården var også designet etter sånn den ser ut i Smallville! Huset var i feil farge, men innkjørselen og alt likna veldig. Ah!

Slåssingen på gården med Darkseid var den aller tøffeste. Slåsskampene i disse filmene har en tendens til å holde på aaalt for lenge, men denne var stilig. Darkseid prøver å drepe Supermann ved å slå ham så hardt at han fyker ut i verdensrommet. Mhm, hive Supermann opp til sola. Smart. Kara slår hardt fra seg. Supermann river løs en gigantisk bit av bakken som Darkseid står på, snur den og smeller den i bakken igjen med Darkseid underst. Kara griper Darkseid rundt nakken med beina og snur ham så omega-strålene treffer ham selv i stedet! (Men holy crap, hold dere unna bygningene! Mer om det straks...)

Hva jeg ikke likte...
Designet på mennene. Som stort sett var Batman og Supermann. Jeg liker det ikke når leppene på animerte menn ser sånn ut. De hadde vel gjort det for at tegningene skulle likne på Michael Turner sine (han tegna tegneserien dette er basert på), men jeg synes ikke det funka noe særlig. Brillene til Clark så teite ut også. Kara og de andre kvinnene så helt ok ut. Typisk fanservice. :P

Darkseid hadde ikke Michael Ironside's stemme... Awww, de fikk inn originale stemmer for Superman, Batman OG Granny Goodness, hvorfor ikke Michael Ironsiiide... Darkseid låt ikke som seg selv i mine ører. Jeg tror til og med Clancy Brown (Lex) var der et sted på starten.

At de absolutt må ødelegge bygninger når de slåss. Er det for mye forlangt at de kommer seg vekk fra ting som kan knuse? Det er et tema som aldri tas opp i superhelthistorier, hvem betaler for alle de ødelagte bygningene?? Og denne gangen var det Kentgården ogsåå... Jeg fikk vondt inni meg.

Designet på Jonathan og Martha. De så ikke ut som de hørte hjemme i dette århundret. Når de først hadde brukt Smallville-smallville-designet, kunne de ikke oppdatere foreldrene også? Usj.

Kara's stereotypiske tenåringsoppførsel. Bah. Skulle tro hun ville høre litt mer på sin eneste slektning, den eneste som vet hvordan det er å utvikle overmenneskelige krefter...

SMALLVILLE: Lazarus

"And now... the final season of Smallville..." Da var det gjort, dette var den siste sesongåpningen av Smallville jeg noen sinne kommer til å se. Tiende og siste sesong er i gang!

Episoden åpner med en ganske lang "previously on", sånn som sesongpremierer pleier. Skjermen går i svart, og Tom Welling åpner med å fortelle oss at nå starter den siste sesongen av Smallville. Det er dramatisk, vemodig, og passende. Det er så deilig å vite at dette er planlagt som siste sesong, at vi ikke kommer til å få en brå slutt fordi serien blir kanselert.

Jeg er så glad for at Lois endelig vet om Clark! Dette er Smallville, og denne Lois fortjener å vite det. Fansen fortjener at hun får vite det! Lois er nå egentlig i samme situasjon som Chloe var i sesong 4 - hun vet om Clark, men lar være å fortelle at hun vet det. Jeg flira godt av Lois som tuller med Clark og forteller hvordan The Blur "lidenskapelig tok henne i de muskuløse armene sine og kysset henne", og at det var fantastisk. Clark smiler for seg selv med ryggen mot henne før han snur seg og sier at "det var da dristig" :P

Men egentlig irriterer jeg meg over logikken i hvordan de oppfører seg ovenfor hverandre. Lois skal teknisk sett ikke vite at The Blur og Clark er samme person, ergo er hun jo utro. Og Clark burde egentlig bli mye mer sjalu på seg selv etter at hun sier noe sånt til ham. Humm. Men han vet jo at det er ham selv, så kanskje han ikke bryr seg. Men han gjør jo det.... han ble jo lei seg når han lurte på om det ikke var en annen grunn enn the blur som lois brydde seg om i en episode i sesong 9... agh, innviklede topersons-trekant.

Chloe tar på seg dr. Fates hjelm for å finne ut hvor Oliver ble av i slutten av forrige sesong. Hun ender opp bevisstløs av det, men når hun våkner opp vet hun hvor Oliver er, og hvilke farger Clark kommer til å bruke i framtiden. Humhum. ;) Av en eller annen grunn som vi ikke får vite så mener hun at det er smartere at hun utleverer seg selv i bytte for Oliver i stedet for å la Clark zoome inn og redde dagen. Håper det blir forklart hvorfor etter hvert. Av en eller annen grunn digga jeg det lille øyeblikket hvor dr. Hamilton bosser Clark rundt. "Clark, move!"

Tess våkner opp i en lab, fullstendig helbredet fra skadene hun fikk forrige sesong. Hun oppdager en samling av Lex sine kloner. Hun finner en ung variant som kaller seg Alexander, og en eldre en, som går amok, brenner alle de andre klonene til døde, og lar Tess være igjen der for å gi en beskjed til Clark... Usikker på hva jeg syntes om denne nye Lex, men det var morsomt at han faktisk låt som Michael Rosenbaum innimellom.

Jeg likte det lille tilbakeblikket til "korsfestelsen" i den aller første episoden. Men nå kommer jeg aldri til å se på den scenen på samme vis igjen. Hm. Jeg kommer bare til å være opphengt i at dette kommer til å skje igjen om 10 år. Dærsken, 10 år er lenge! jeg var 11 år gammel for 10 år siden!

Superman, anyone? Det eneste som er feil er fargene! Jeg venter fortsatt med en liten klump i halsen på hvordan introduksjonen av tights og kappe kommer til å gå...

Lois ender i alle fall opp med å dra til Afrika allikevel. Jeg regner med at hun gjør det fordi klone-Lex forteller henne at hun er Clarks største svakhet. Clark finner et brev hvor hun forteller hva hun har gjort.

Jeg gråt da Clark så faren sin stå og jobbe med gjerdet som om ingenting hadde skjedd. Godt hjulpet av sangeren i bakgrunnen som synger "I'd give anything for one more day with you...". Ødela maskaraen min gjorde du, curse you, Jonathan Kent!♥ Jeg lurer på hva det er som gjør at han dukker opp. Jeg trodde han kom til å være en del av Clarks "nær døden-opplevelse", men nei, han dukker opp mens Clark er frisk og fin. Mystisk, mystisk.

Eep! Jeg var ikke forberedt på en Darkseid som liknet så mye på originalen! :D

Jeg forundrer meg også litt over at Jor-El plutselig sier at han har tatt feil, og at Clark "never will become the Earth's savior". Clark har da trådd over streken og nesten drept noen mange ganger, hvorfor kommer han med dette nå? Er det noe omvendt psykologi på gang her? Time will show.

Episoden slutter i alle fall med at mystisk røyk smyger seg langsetter taket hvor the Book of Rao fortsatt står (??) og hveser skummelt opp mot kameraet. Inni en av krystallene i the Fortress of Solitude ligger Supermanndrakten og venter......

Ny DCAU ute! Woo! Eller, den var ikke kjempebra, men jeg vil skrive en liten kjapp snutt om hva jeg likte og ikke likte for det.

Likte:
Pent design på karakterene og tøff intro. Byggingen av Watchtower! Wonder Woman som skaffer seg et usynlig fly. Batman som stopper sin Flash fra å holde portalen åpen. Martian Manhunter sitt Flashback. Owlmans "Law Abiding Citizen"-død.

Likte ikke:
Hvorfor i alle dager ville Owlman utslette verden? Null motivasjon bortsett fra å være pling i bollen. Dessuten snakka han rart. Irriterende. Slåsskampene var ikke noe særlig engasjerende heller. Hang meg opp i at de aldri kalte Superwoman for Lois Lane. Selv om hun teknisk sett er Wonder Woman. ;)

Næmen VG da, tusen takk for en hyggelig overaskelse! :D Smallville er på VG i dag! Jeg vet det bare er på grunn av at Teri Hatcher er så kjent, men dette varmer mitt nerdehjerte. ♥

"Teri skal denne gangen spille moren til Lois Lane, noe som betraktes som et «scoop» for TV-produsentene. Siden Lois mor Ella er død, vil Teri dukke opp i form av gamle videoopptak som datteren tilfeldigvis kommer over.

«Smallville», som vises på TVNorge, gikk første gang på lufta i 2001. Tom Welling (33) spiller Supermann, mens Erica Durance (32) fyller rollen som Lois Lane. Det var TVNorge som i sin tid også viste «Lois & Clark», hvor Dean Cain (44) spilte hovedrollen.

Jeg var egentlig inne på VG for å se etter den nye traileren til Harry Potter, men dette var mye morsommere!

Some of my favorite Smallville fanfictions!

Never Quite by aforgottenwish

The story I love the most is weird, different, sequel to another story who gave me nightmares, and it seems - sadly - that it will never be finished. You should read the first story, "Antipathy" before this one if you want to understand what's happening, but as I said, it totally screwed my mind over and made me dream about having my chest cut open...

In the first story Clark gets outed, kidnapped and tortured by Lex, and after endless sufferings Lex experiments with different types of kryptonite on him. When he tries the black type, Clarks kryptonian side takes over, and he brutally murders all of the scientists and Lex... owch. (Black kryptonite should tecnically split him into two separate people, but I can ignore that for the sake of this story)

In this one, the sequel, you find Clark - now almost a complete different person - living in Africa with a new identity as Kaleb Elliot. And that's what makes this story so good. Clark hasn't just lost his memories and become a different person, he's just switched personalities somehow. Not like when he's on red K, but like a more human variation of Kal-El from the episode "Crusade". He has left his old life behind to deal with the emotional scars the torture and experiments left him with. But some events forces him to go back and visit his old life and bad memories.

I usually stop reading fics because the language and grammar is horrible. But this is so well written! The language flows so well, and you really get fascinated by Kaleb.

I am a huge fan of the regular Clark, but this new character is so complex and fascinating that "Never Quite" gets first place on my list. Clark doesn't come back, people! That's what makes this story so original.

Smallville Armageddon Aftermath by IolantheAlias

Another sequel! What's with me! This story is actually a sequel by a different author than the one who wrote the first one, but this turned out to be my favorite of the two. The first story, "Armageddon" is a different take on the smallville episode "Apocalypse". Clark gets sent to another world where he never existed, and Zod has taken over the world and killed most of the human population. His old friends are now members of the resistance, and when they figure out that he is part of the same species who killed all the humans, they quickly take him prisoner. He manages to somewhat convince them that he wants to help, and helps them stop Zod in the end of the story, and gets sent back to his own universe.

This story tweaks the ending a bit, so that Clark stays in the alternate universe. It starts with Clarks trial, where the others discuss what they should do with him. He ends up getting the job of bodyguard for the paralell version of his mother, who hates him with a burning passion. But during the story, they gradually become friends, and that's what makes this story so good. The realistic progress in Clark and Martha's reationship. It actually takes some time for her to trust him.

I really like this one, and it updates somewhat regularly. But recently it fell into what I call the "Superman-Smallville-trap". I usually stop reading Smallville-fanfiction when the author tries to mix in the Superman universe, like the suit and glasses... But I love this story so much that I'll try to overlook it for a bit longer.

SmallvilleX: Evolution by ben10987654321
This is a crossover between X-men: Evolution and Smallville. I've got some problems with the way it's written (kinda in the present tense, "Clark stands at the entrance to the farm leaning against the post."), and it's a bit slow paced, but I love it anyway. Especially the latest chapters.

Clark gets reqruited to "Xavier's school for the gifted", but catches the attention of Magneto at the same time. He gradually makes friends, gets a girlfriend among the mutants and gradually evolves his powers. I think this is set sometime in the earliest seasons.

A short, but very nice story. I love how Lois figures out that Oliver knows the Blur, and how Lois have a blindfolded meeting with Clark as the Blur.

...his breath was hot on her lips as he hesitated.

I usually don't like stories that's only about relationships and romance (I need some action too!) but this one just warmed my heart. It could have been better if Clark wasn't revealed at the end, but it's okay.

Lèse Majesté by ancarett

It's a decent story, but I love it simply for something Chloe says to Oliver in the second part of the first chapter, when Oliver is annoyed with Clark's line of reasoning:

"Welcome to the Clark Kent show. He'll either drive you mad or you'll learn to work around it."

I have no idea if it was intentional, but it's too good of a line to be a coincidence. It perfectly describes the essence of Smallville. Either you hate it, or you accept that the storyline will never ever match up with any of the other Superman universes. I love how it describes both Clark's personality and the show itself.

I have no idea why anyone would want to watch their videos when they look like this, but I just thought these screenshots of Clark looked kinda pretty. :)

1) At Clark lærer å fly
2) At Lois får vite hemmeligheten hans.
3) At Chloe får en lykkelig slutt. (og helst ikke dør. Det hadde vært fryktelig stusselig og trist)
4) At Clark absolutt ikke begynner å gå i tights og kappe, men at han får et modernisert kostyme i rødt, blått og kanskje gult.

I just saw the "Last Airbender"-movie, so I thought I'd try to write down some stuff about what I liked and disliked.

It was... not as horrible as most people said it was, but it was most definitely not good compared to the original series. I did see it in aweful quality, so I missed some of the effect of good sound and image, but I'l probably watch it again in the cinema or on DVD.

Parts I liked, and that I think was done right in this movie

The music. It reminded me a bit of the show, and that's a plus of course. It was probably nothing I would listen to on my ipod, but nice music nonetheless.
The part with the bowing. I think I remember reading somewhere that a lot of people hated it, but I think it was a nice touch that Aang "embraced his destiny" in the end, at least somewhat reluctantly.
The bending effects. Sometimes, when they weren't dancing all over the place, it looked really good. More on that later.
Momo and Appa. (Even though we never saw Appa clearly)

Parts I disliked. Prepare for a long rant

The mispronounciation of the names made me cringe in the beginning. I got used to "Eeeroh", "Uhng" and "Soak-ah" after a while, but the worst part was actually how some of the actors pronounced "Avatar". Kind of like "Awww-atar". It just sounded so out of place! I don't know what the hell Shyamalan was thinking. Basicly, he's degrading the original show. And why piss off the fans? We don't care that "Sah-ka" is the wrong way of saying his name when that's what he's been called in all of the 3 seasons!

Show, do not tell. And there was a lot of stuff that wasn't told right either. First of all; I thought modern movies never used narrators anymore. Because that's cheating, and it shows that you are not able to make the movie without it. Instead of Katara telling the audience that they had been training, I would have liked to see a short montage instead. That just seems so much more professional. Narration just tells me "I had to much stuff to work with, I'm not a good enough director to shorten it down with clips, so I'll make one of the characters tell the audience instead."

Instead of having Katara narrate the "Water, earth, fire, air", sequence, couldn't just she and Sokka be discussing what the Avatar is when they are out hunting?

And we never got a clear idea of what the Avatar is, and how the concept works. Somehow the movie should have explained that the Avatar is the spirit of the planet in human form, that he or she has the ability to control all the elements, and that he or she is reborn into the next nation of the Avatar-cycle when they die. And the part about keeping balance. The grandmother in the movie tried, buuut I don't think she did it right.

And Aang... Ohboy. Sometimes he looked cute, but he was so pouty and sad all the time! I realise that the movies have to be more serious to be taken seriously (like, seriously!), but come on, let Aang be a little more cheerful! I absolutly adore the way Aang is in the series! If you would present the first episodes of Avatar to an adult, they might think that it's a bit childish, but he grows up so much after a while! I love how he is trying so much to avoid his destiny in the beginning, and how he's always so cheerful and so talented and powerful at the same time. And he was a natural at waterbending, god damnit! I absolutly didn't feel the same kind of love for this version of Aang as I do for the original. But I loved his tattos though!

And what was the deal with Appa? We never got to see a closeup of what he really looked like. He was just some mysterious furry beast who floated. Aang never showed any real love for his companion like he does in the original. Any generic audience who's never seen the animated series must have wondered a bit about a lot of parts in this movie.

Katara and Sokka... were boring and uninteresting most of the time. Katara had none of her usual charm, and Sokka was almost funny... once. And I don't think their relationship was established good enough, they just didn't seem like they knew eachother. Not to speak of their relationship with Aang! I can see why animated Katara and Sokka would choose to travel around with Aang, but not why these two would. They hardly know the kid! And they seemed more like his fans than his friends.

The Dancebending! I might be a bit biased about this, because I saw this before I watched the movie, but seriously. The bending looks so much natural and tougher in the animated series! And you can actually see how the movements of the person affects the element they are bending. Most of the time in the movie, it looked like they were dancing. A lot of fancy dancing, and then something happened.

And the part with the rock flying by... If you watched the macarena video I linked, you can see a lot of earthbenders do some fancy dancing, and then a small rock flies by. I don't know if I would have noticed if Rufftoon hadn't pointed it out, but that's just bad planning.

What actually happens in the movie is that one earthbender is about to be hit with a blast of fire, but a wall of dirt rises up from the ground and protects him. The camera pans to the left, and we see a group of earthbenders do a "victory dance". Then a small rock flies by, and another earthbender pops into the screen after it, and shoots the rock at the firebenders.

What it looks like is that the group of earthbenders use a lot of fancy moves to make just that one little rock fly by, since they are still moving after the wall of dirt has protected the other man. it could have been done so much better! See the link from rufftoon to see what I mean.

...sigh. It was an allright, horrible movie. If that makes sense. But It didn't do the original series justice at all!

Nå nærmer det seg starten på sesong 10! Jeg både gruer meg (mer om det senere) og gleder meg utrolig mye! Her er en trailer for sesong 10 som ble vist på San Diego Comic Con i sommer. Tid for overanalysering, klipp for klipp!

Clark faller ned fra taket med kryptonittdolken i sida sånn som sesong 9 slutta.
Jonathan Kent/John Schneiders stemme sier "And now... the final season of Smallville..." mens vi ser et 10-tall. Kutt til--
Lois faller på bakken i regnet ved siden av den blå dolken. Kameraet flyr fort til siden, og der ser vi Clark ligger også. Begge er bevisstløse. Lurer veldig på hva Lois har der å gjøre. [EDIT 20.09.10: Never mind, har funnet ut at hun finner ham og ligger oppå brystet hans. Er sikkert lei seg og tror han er død.]
Clark "poserer dramatisk" ute på gata, og ser ganske forslått ut. Tydelig nettopp våkna etter fallet. Ser kanskje litt forvirret ut?
Vi får et kjapt glimt av en artikkel fra the Torch fra sesong 1, hvor Lana nesten ble drept i et svømmebasseng. Hint til at det vil dukke opp en gammel meteorfrik? Vi får se at Lois sitter og leser artikkelen på dataen, og sier "I'm the last one he loved"..? Jeg får ikke helt tak i hva det egentlig er hun sier her, for kvaliteten på videoen er ikke helt bra. Det kan også være "I'm the last one around", "The last one alone"... Eh. [EDIT 20.09.10: Aaah, hun sier "I'm the last one to know. Aner ikke hvordan hun deduserte seg fram til det ved å se på det utklippet, men time will show!]
Lois står og ser på en eske med noe som ser veldig ut som drakta fra Superman Returns. Ohboy. Voiceover-Lois sier "We need to talk."
Skift til innsiden av et telt, virker som det er ute i ørkenen på grunn av lyset. Carter Hall går igjennom teltdøra og sier noe (til Lois?) som høres ut som "Guess you never know what fate has planned for you."
Kjapt klipp med fjeset til Carter med maske foran bildet av JSA.
Kameaet flyr over noen gamle, gule papirer, ett av dem viser en tegning av et gammelt smykke.
Ute i ørkenen blant en del telt drar Lois av seg et skjerf hun har hatt surret rundt hodet.
Kutt til the Daily Planet, Clark ser forvirret på noen utenfor bildet, og sier "...Lois?" Noen som ser ut som Lois, men som er blond, sier "No, I'm Catherine", og noe jeg ikke får med meg. "You want a cookie?" Clark håndhilser på henne og sier "Welcome to the Daily Planet." Aah, dette er nok Cat Grant.
Vi ser Green Arrow sikter på noe med pil og bue, og så at Oliver omfavner Chloe. Chloe sier i voiceover noe som kan låte som "Sometimes it's hard to share your (...) with the rest of the world." Hun sier også noe om "...has it's sacrifices" mens vi ser Lois ser utover sanddynene.
Tess våkner opp på noe som likner på et sykehus, den ene halvdelen av fjeset hennes ser helt plastikkaktig ut. En liten gutt viser henne mennesker bak glass som er koblet opp med slanger. Tess spør "Who are they?". Gutten svarer "They are my brothers." Mannen vi ser likner mystisk mye på Lex fra sesong 8. Tess blir skremt av en annen person bak glass som ser skikkelig ekkel ut.
Kutt til en desperat Chloe som sier "I have to find him." En annen stemme (Hamilton?) sier "Find who?" Hun svarer. "Oliver!" Clark svisjer ut av bildet.
Nærbilde av et helt hvitt fjes som rører litt på seg. Clark og denne personen går sammen under et tre. (Deadman...?)
Kara smiler mot noen. Masse folk går inn på Smallville High. Kjapt bilde av noen i fortress of solitude. Nærbilde av øyet til Brainiac. Vi ser den gamle damen som strikker igjen. Mannen bak glasset med maske åpner øynene. Lionel Luthor (!!) står og ser forskrekket på noe.
Clark går bortover på gården, og sier "...Dad?" Jonathan Kent retter seg opp fra å ha bøyd seg ned ved et gjerde, og omfavner Clark mens han sier "Hello, son." I neste klipp sier han "Something very dark is coming." Mens vi ser en masse fugler (flaggermus??) lette fra en bygning sier han noe som låter som "You're gonna be tested"
Chloe sier "Bye Clark", og løfter Dr. Fates hjelm ut av en monter. Dr. Fate sier "You could be the greatest hero the world's ever known". Kutt til Lois som sier "...a Superman." Globusen til the Daily Planet faller, Clark fyker opp og flyr (??!?) den opp igjen. Publikum på comic Con hyler. Clark sier i voiceover "I am Kal-El of Krypton. It's time to fullfill my destiny. Skjermen går i svart og viser supermannlogoen. "SMALLVILLE. Fridays this fall."

Og så en liten godbit på slutten, en nyydelig promo som oppsummerer det som har skjedd de siste 10 årene, med et intervju etterpå.

Pluss og minus

Jeg har gnåla om det en stund nå, at Code Geass er den beste Animen noensinne! Men uansett hvor fantastisk serien er, så er det en del ting som kanskje ikke gjør den helt perfekt. Om du ikke kan overse de tingene da.

Fanservice. Karakterene er lange, tynne og pene, men her og der er det noen åpenbare deler som bare er ment som fanservice. Merkelige kameravinkler og fokus på pupper og rompe etc. Det skjer som sagt bare innimellom, men det kan bli litt irritrerende.
Mecha. Jeg personlig har ikke noe i mot det, men det virker som fans rundt omkring ikke liker "slåssing med roboter". Og det er sånn så godt som all slåssing foregår i denne serien.
Fjolle-episoder. Selv om den overordnede handlingen i serien er dønn seriøs, så er det en 4-5 episoder som bare er fjollete. Fyll-episoder om du vil. De er i alle fall morsomme! Men det er kanskje litt unødvendige om du er brennende engasjert i hovedhandlinga.

Deathly Hallows trailer!

Jeg er usikker på om jeg starter alle innlegg om fantastiske trailere på denne måten, men:

Uæææ, fantastisk-trailer-for-deathly-hallows-og-jeg-har-frysninger-på-ryggen-og-omg! Jeg liker ikke å ønske meg at høst og ekkelt vær skal komme fort, men som jeg gleder meg til november! Jeg vet det er litt pompøst, men jeg får litt bonus-frysninger av at det står sånne ting som "The motion picture event of a generation" innimellom klippene (Hoppsann, nå fikk jeg til og med frysninger av å skrive det).

Og jeg digger at den starter rolig og uten musikk med klippet hvor Harry går for å møte Voldemort i skogen, og så dundrer den løs med dramatisk musikk, og slutter så med en stille bit på slutten igjen hvor Harry og Voldemort slåss.

"The Last Airbender", eller "Luftens Siste Mester" suger visstnok brukbart i følge USA-fansen som har sett filmen alt. Jeg vet ikke helt om jeg er skuffa eller ikke. Serien kommer jo alltid til å være fantastisk uansett. Men litt kjipt er det jo at filmen jeg har gleda meg til så lenge er ræva. Hm. Men tror nok jeg skal se den på kino når den kommer uansett. Men... Soak-ah, Ahng and Air-oh... akk.
Det viser seg at "Legend of Korra" skal foregå enda 100 år fram i tid. Da er jeg ganske så sikker på at det kommer til å handle om Avatar Korra! Jeg venter i spenning på videre nyheter!

Avatar: The Legend of Korra

I recently stumbled upon news that Viacom just copyrighted the title "Avatar: Legend of Korra"! But nothing is known about what this series will be about yet. But it has got to have something to do with Avatar: The Last Airbender! I also read somewhere that Mike and Bryan who created ATLA will be working on this new show. So there's no way that it won't be taking place in the same world as the other Avatar-show. Oh, I'm so exited! Now I'm even more exited for this than the upcoming movie.

From the title, I think I can deduce a few facts about what it will be about:

First off, since the title is "legend of", this Korra most likely is an Avatar. I don't really see a reason for the story of this person to become a legend if it's not about an Avatar. But I could be wrong.
And, being the ATLA-geek that I am, I can tell that the name "Korra" seem to belong to a female waterbender. Or at least a waterbender, since their names almost always have a K in them.
Soo, most likely about a female Watertribe-Avatar. And as we geeks know, the Avatar after Aang would be a waterbender, and most likely a female one, since the last two were male.

I really hope they go for a prequel-story. To be following the Avatar after Aang will just be too sad, because that means he will have to be dead. And I love Aang so much, I don't want him and the gaang to be dead! So, I hope that it will take place in the past.

But I read someone come up with a very good, plaucible theory on a forum somewhere; what if this will be about the very first Avatar? The first element in the Avatar cycle is water, so that fits perfectly! That would make an original interesting story. And all the air nomads would still be alive!

Woo, now my head is buzzing with theories and anticipation!

Jeg begynte nettopp å se starten på "Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince" igjen... Ville bare skrive ned en kort snutt med tankene mine om filmen:

Jeg liker hvordan starten på denne filmen starter rett etter der den forrige slutta, hvor Harry og Humlesnurr blir fotografert i Magidepartementet. Liker hvordan Harry ser ut, stakkar. Filmene så annerledes nå, mye mørkere. Den første filmen var så mye mer munter og fargerik, mens nå er alle fargene svarte, grå, grønne, etc.

Jeg vet ikke helt hva jeg synes om scenen de la til i starten av filmen, med jenta som Harry skal ut på date med. Jeg hadde ikke noe i mot at de la inn en tilfeldig romanse, men det var så mye som skurra der. Først og fremst fordi han ikke burde kunne sose rundt som han vil, vi får jo forklart at Voldemort kan snappe ham når som helst om han ikke er under beskyttelsen i Hekkveien. Hm. Og dessuten rører bildene på seg i avisa Harry leser, så hun ikke det?

Og av en eller annen grunn forelsket jeg meg i den lille scenen hvor Luna og Harry endelig kommer seg innenfor skoleporten. Gitteret lukker seg bak dem, og vi ser at det er et lys (magi) som brer seg oppover gitteret samtidig som det durer med en lyd som minner om kraftig elektrisitet. En flue blir svidd når det prøver å røre porten. Jeg bare digga hvordan det var utført, skikkelig stilig måte å vise at det er kraftig magi som beskytter borgen. Hang meg bare litt opp i dette lille øyeblikket. Ah. ♥

Sesong 10 av Smallville blir den siste! Men det er jeg egentlig bare glad for. Noe lenger enn det ville bare vært galskap. Og jeg forventa det egentlig helt siden vi fikk vite at det faktisk ble en sesong 10. Men du så trist det vil bli å miste favoritt-TV-serien min som jeg har fulgt med på helt siden 2001! 10 sesonger, over 200 episoder... dæng.

Men jeg har en del småting å plukke på som jeg er redd for eller synes bør skje.

Jeg håper av hele min sjel at vi ALDRI får se Tom Welling i tights. Uansett hvor ikonisk det er, og selv om at dette er en serie om Supermann, så kommer det til å ødelegge hele integriteten til serien! Smallvilles Clark Kent virker ikke som en fyr som ville synes det er logisk å ta på seg TIGHTS for å beskytte verden!

Clark bør fly! Jeg krever ikke at han flyr i mange episoder, bare vi får en eneste, passelig lang sekvens hvor han flyr ordentlig! Den bør helst toppe flyvesekvensen fra sesong 4. Det synes jeg fansen fortjener! Det er ikke nok om vi bare får se en utydelig figur fyke forbi, det synes jeg blir å snyte oss etter så mange år.

Og ellers håper jeg Lois får vite alt om Clark på et punkt, men sukk, det er ikke et must. Men jeg ville blitt fryktelig glad for det.

SMALLVILLE: Salvation

For å starte med en klisjé, så føltes det som om det var i går at jeg satt og var spent for å se første episode av sesong 9. Og nå er sesongen allerede over! Og for en slutt det var, selv om den hadde sine små... feil her og der. Men den var abslutt bedre enn "Doomsday"!

Før jeg begynner vil jeg bare ha de to største feilene med episoden ut av veien: Først og fremst irriterer det meg at Alia-problemet ikke ble forklart. Var det bare forfatterne som tabbet seg ut? Er det en forklaring jeg har gått glipp av? Mener forfatterne at vi burde ha skjønt det? Blir det forklart i sesong 10? Og så var det alt for lettvint at Zod glemte seg bort og hvisket tilståelsen sin i øret på Clark. Så dum burde han ikke vært, han burde da vite at alle som var der hadde superhørsel og ville høre det uansett hvor lavt han hvisket? Litt for lettvint løsning synes jeg.

Men! Bortsett fra det satt jeg som limt! Åpningen, som besto av Clark som drømte om fremtiden var litt cheesy, men absolutt artig. Jeg har fortsatt litt trøbbel med sånne ting som kapper og tights i Smallville, men jeg håper uansett på at han skal begynne å gå i rødt og blått igjen! Esken han fikk fra Martha med innholdet som vi ikke fikk se var også et stilig touch. Alt vi får se er refleksjonen i øyet til Clark! Det er greit at de hinter til fremtiden, men jeg vil IKKE se Tom Welling i den klassiske Supermann-drakta. Men det er en annen historie.

Ellers handler da episoden om at Kandorianerne (det låter så teit på norsk) skal til å prøve å ta over verden, og Clark har nå fått tak i "The Book of Rao" som vil sende alle fra Krypton til en annen verden. Clark endrer litt mening hit og dit om han mener han skal ofre seg og bli med dem eller ikke, og vi får se en stilig, litt rørende sekvens hvor han tar farvel med sitt eget team og JSA (Fra "Absolute Justice"). Han holder en ganske Supermann-aktig tale, noe som egentlig passet ganske bra inn. Clark er liksom den typen nå. Tidligere i serien da han var mer usikker på seg selv ville det ikke gått.

Når Clark drar etter Lois og Zod får vi også det beste super-punchet jeg har sett siden Clark drar til Brainiac i sesong 5. Noe så tøft! Spesialeffektene de legger til når en med superkrefter slår på den måten får det til å se skikkelig kraftfullt ut.

Og så hendte det jeg hadde håpet på så lenge, Lois finner (nok en gang) ut at Clark og the Blur er samme person. Det var veldig fint at hun fant det ut når de kysset hverandre i mørket. Jeg tror nok de fleste vil kjenne at det er kjæresten sin de kysser, selv om man ikke kan se dem. Teknikken, lukten etc. Så når han wooosher sin vei står hun igjen og smiler litt overrasket, og sier "...Clark."

MEN! Når sesong 10 starter kan dette gå nesten hvor som helst. De kan velge å la henne vite om Clark, men det tror jeg desverre er lite sannsynlig. Sukk. Det blir sikkert bortforklart på noe vis, at Clark bare var der for å se etter henne eller noe, men jeg håper virkelig at vi kan få se Clark/Supermann og Lois som et team neste sesong. Eller så mister han kreftene sine på grunn av den blå kryptonitten en stund, han benekter alt for henne som i "Idol". Men uansett så valgte han jo å kysse henne som the Blur, og var sikkert fullt klar over at hun kom til å legge to og to sammen... Hm. Sesong 10 vil vise.

Og i beste cliffhangerstil blir Oliver overfalt mens han klatrer igjennom noen luftventiler. Rett før han forsvinner får han sagt til Chloe at han elsker henne og at de som angriper ham ikke er Kandorianere. På sykehuset flatliner Tess av brannskadene sine, men en mystisk gammel dame vi ikke får sett fjeset på sniker seg inn på rommet hennes...

Clark dukker som sagt opp med the Book of Rao, og etter at Zod så dumt tabber seg ut velger hæren hans å høre på Clark, og går med på å bli flyttet til den andre verdenen. Så, en etter en forvinner de i et gult lys, men når det kun er Clark og Zod igjen (så praktisk at de var igjen til sist) så drar Zod fram en dolk av blå kryptonitt, som tar fra dem kreftene, og hinder dem å bli dratt med de andre. Og så - dunn dunn dunn - slåsskamp mellom Clark og Zod på taket.

Zod ser i alle fall ut til å få overtaket, og presser Clark mot kanten av taket de står på med dolken vendt mot ham. Men så gir Clark etter, og Zod stikker kniven inn i siden hans. Clark vakler på kanten og faller over med kniven sittende i kroppen. Uten kryptonitten forvinner Zod også, og vi ser Clark falle i sakte film med armene spredt ut til siden, og skjermen går i svart. TO BE CONTINUED...

Uææ, jeg hater cliffhangere! Men egentlig har jeg ikke store grunnen til å være redd, for Clark vet jeg det går bra med, en eller annen kommer til å fange ham. Men uansett er det irriterende at det slutter midt i fallet på den måten.

Og hvis problemet skal ordnes på en logisk måte, så må han reddes på en bestemt måte, for hvis noen fjerner dolken vil jo han også forsvinne fra jorden hvis maskinen fortsatt står og går. Og selv om jeg er Clark-fan håper jeg nesten at han faktisk går i bakken når sesong 10 starter. Jeg vil jo så klart at det skal gå bra med vår helt, men jeg er så lei av siste liten-redninger. :P Det er så alt for overbrukt!

Jeg vil gjerne beholde Tess (Oliver går det nok fint med) i serien, så håper hun blir gjenopplivet av denne mystiske gamle damen. Og hvis teorien alle har (og som jeg er enig i) er riktig, at dette er "Granny Goodness", så håper jeg at hun ikke får det for fælt hos Darkseid... Jeg liker Tess!

Og siden vi snakker om Darkseid. Det er så mange hint som peker mot at han kommer til å være seriens siste skurk. Darkseid kommer som sagt fra en planet som heter "Apokolips". Og jeg er ganske sikker på at ordet "apocalypse" har blitt nevnt i alle fall to ganger i slutten av sesongen. Og siden serien ikke er tekstet enda er det helt åpent hva det var hun egentlig sa, for de to ordene uttales helt likt. Og når da denne gamle damen dukker opp virker det enda mer sannsynlig, i alle fall når det er snakk om en gammel dame som tydeligvis går inn på sykehusrommet til Tess for å gjenopplive henne. For hva annet har en mystisk gammel dame der inne å gjøre?

Darkseid har jeg virkelig sansen for etter å ha sett på Superman: The Animated Series og Justice League. Han er en virkelig tøff motstander for Supermann. Men det som er problemet med ham er jo at han ikke ser ut som et menneske da. Men serien klarte jo å gjøre menneske av Doomsday, så hvorfor ikke Darkseid...

Æsj, nå sitter jeg bare og spekulerer. Sesong 10 vil vel starte utpå høsten en gang, og så er det bare å vente og se!

...og årets Potter-maraton er i gang!

Jeg har for vane å ha et slags Harry Potter-maraton hver sommer. Ikke noe seriøst noe så klart, noen ganger leser jeg noen bøker helt igjennom, noen skummer jeg bare i, og andre ganger leser jeg nesten alle. I fjor skumleste jeg en del. Koste meg med favorittdelene mine i Deathly Hallows og furta litt over at serien er over!

Alle Potterbøkene jeg har skaffet meg hittil!

Og i år går det som sagt i lydbøker. Det er jo litt mer praktisk da, litt vanskeligere å skumme igjennom, men til gjengjeld kan jeg høre på i bilen, når jeg trener, om jeg skal sole meg, etc. Og disse gjør det ikke noe om jeg har lest før, det er nesten like morsomt uansett. Første gangen er det mysteriet som gjelder, andre gangen plukker jeg opp detaljer jeg ikke la merke til første gangen. Fun fun.

Marit har lydbokdilla...

Jeg har hatt fryktelig lydbokdilla i det siste, bilturene til Halden er nesten noe å se fram til når jeg har en spennende bok å høre på. Først gikk det i Wilbur Smith sine bøker, og så gikk jeg over til bøkene som True Blood-serien er basert på, av Charlaine Harris. Og nå har jeg nettopp fått tak i alle 7 Harry Potter-bøkene på lydbok, og har store planer om å komme meg igjennom alle sammen! Spiller ingen rolle at jeg har lest alle sammen ørten ganger før! Torstein Bugge Høverstad leser så morsomt at jeg oppdager nye detaljer og ler av nye ting!

SMALLVILLE: Hostage

Jeg likte denne episoden veldig godt! Veldig mye mer enn jeg har likt de forrige episodene faktisk, at Martha (og Perry) kommer tilbake gjør sånt med en episode! Det eneste jeg ikke likte noe større var at alle drev og løy for hverandre, ellers var den tipp topp!

Max Lord hadde en alt for liten rolle, men jeg likte hva han gjorde. Jeg gjetta det heller ikke at alt som skjedde mellom han og Tess skjedde inni hennes hode før Tess selv gjorde det. Jeg satt og fabla over hvor fantastisk unødvendig det var å montere gitter i herskapshuset. Teite Marit!

Dessuten likte jeg Clarks konfrontasjon med Perry, hvordan han var høflig, men veldig skeptisk, siden han hadde møtt Perry en gang før for en del år siden.

Clarks supermannøyeblikk når han tok i mot det store skiltet var kjempetøft, Lois sin "Biotch!" kommentar var herlig, og jeg fikk rent tårer i øynene når Perry står i døråpningen og likner på Jonathan.

og episoden legger veldig opp til at Clark vil fortelle Lois hemmeligheten sin i neste episode, men i beste Smallville-stil kommer det sikkert noe i veien... jeg venter i spenning.

En uke til sesongfinale!

Uæææ, spent-spent-spent! Jeg kommer tilbake med en gjennomgang av denne ukas episode senere, nå er jeg alt for opphengt i promoen for sesongfinalen!

I alle fall slutter "Hostage" med at Lois får en lapp fra the Blur hvor det står at de endelig skal møtes. Men jeg fant ut etterpå at det er Zod (tror jeg) som legger igjen denne lappen for å lure henne, og for å få henne til å stjele the Book of Rao fra Clark. Lois daa... selv om the Blur og Clark liksom er samme person, så er hun jo så godt som utro, hun vet jo ikke noe om det. Og dette er jo Zod til og med! Men til tross for dette håper jeg virkelig at Lois får vite om Clark.

Det er jo et kyss mellom Lois og Clark i fullt Blur-antrekk på promobildene, så NOE må jo skje. Åå, selv om det krøller med mytologien, så trenger jeg at hun finner det ut! Vi trenger en sesong med Lois & Clark som et super-team før serien er over.

"Lois, it's me. I am the Blur! The one you've been talking to is Zod, pretending to be me!"

Noe i den duren ja.

Og hva skuer mine øyne blå-- er det en rød og gul S jeg ser der?? :D

Det er så gruelig nostalgisk å se igjen de tidligste sesongene av Smallville. Og innimellom ganske komisk også! Jeg er fascinert over hvor ung Tom Welling så ut, og hvor fantastisk tynne handlinger noen av episodene hadde!

Og jeg skulle ønske at serien fikk tilbake litt av den stemningen.

SMALLVILLE: Sacrifice

Først og fremst er jeg SÅ skuffet over at en episode som heter Sacrifice, og som kommer rett etter en episode med Max Lord, ikke har Max Lord i den! Men, jeg er ganske sikker på at han er med i neste episode, så det får gå. Jeg vil ha en ordentlig konfrontasjon mellom Lord og Clark!

Bortsett fra det, så var dette en ok episode. Veldig bra på at den faktisk drar historien videre, ikke fullt så bra på at den egentlig var helt... normal. Ingen store omg-øyeblikk å snakke om, alt for lite Clark, og nok en gang flyr alle utenom Clark! Kom IGJEN! Nå begynner det å bli irriterende. Få gutten av bakken!

Og nå som det bare er to episoder igjen, så trenger jeg at serien får noen ting av veien:
1) Opplegget med Alia MÅ forklares! Det er bare for stort til å feie under teppet.
2) Book of Rao?
3) Og gjerne fortelle oss hvem X er en eller annen gang, fra sesong 8

Jeg har egentlig ikke så mye å si om denne... Den fikk historien ordentlig i gang for avslutningen, men ellers var den ganske middelmådig. Lurer veldig på hva som kommer til å skje med Zod og co til slutt men...

Oppdatering på Avatar-fronten

Vanskelig å ha dilla på hele tre ting på en gang, men jeg skal prøve! Først har jeg fått tankene om Smallville ut av hodet, så går jeg over til å nevne litt om alt det som har skjedd på Avatar-fronten i det siste. Først og fremst, så har det kommet enda en trailer for filmen! Woohoo! Dessuten kom det enda flere sider fra "Zhao Water Tribe" ut på nettet, som jeg skrev om her tidligere. Livet er bra for Avatar-fans fortsatt selv om serien er over!

Jeg elsker den serien her... Den er ikke offisiell, men er tegnet og forfattet av en dame som jobbet som storyboard artist på serien. Hun fikk tydeligvis veldig sansen for karakteren general Zhao som var med i den første sesongen. I denne svart-hvitt-tegneserien får vi vite hvordan det gikk med ham etter at han ble trukket under vann i slutten av sesong 1, i alle fall sånn som forfatteren ser det for seg.

Og endelig dukket Aang opp! Jeg var fornøyd med serien som den var, med ingen av heltene tilstede bortsett fra Iroh som dukker opp nå og da, men at en noe eldre Aang dukka opp i disse nye, kjappe sidene var en stor bonus!

SMALLVILLE: Charade

Vel, jeg var mye mer fornøyd med denne episoden. Selv om jeg satt mesteparten av episoden og tenkte "Hjelp, dette har blitt til en ny Lois & Clark"! Politikeren Ray Sacks minnet meg veldig om Lex Luthor fra den serien, og hele opplegget med at Lois og Clark må slåss for å beholde jobben, og med litt romanse-angst strødd på toppen, så ble det hele veldig L&C-aktig.

Det virket litt som om det ble slutt mellom Lois og Clark til slutt... Jeg vet ikke helt hva jeg føler om det. De var tilbake til å være fryktelig søte denne gangen. Men du, som denne to-persons trekanten sliter på dem. Jeg er så klar for at Clark skal fortelle Lois om seg selv snart!

Og det er lenge siden jeg har grått av Smallville, men under telefonsamtalen hvor Clark (som the Blur) sier at han ikke vil ringe henne mer så kom det noen tårer. "But this is the most important part of my life!" "There must be... some other part that means more to you?" Åå, måten han sier den siste replikken på starta en øyeblikkelig tårestrøm. Jeg har kanskje mine problemer med Smallville for tiden, men denne episoden var fantastisk bra skrevet. Og det var et lite øyeblikk mot slutten hvor jeg merka hjertet hoppa over et lite slag fordi jeg trodde han hadde tenkt å fortelle henne sannheten... men akk nei. Siden de nå mest sannsynlig ikke er sammen lenger håper jeg at de kan bli sammen igjen over at Clark forteller henne alt.

Jeg synes virkelig han burde fortelle henne det, selv om det kanskje kan være farlig. Hun fortjener det etter å ha vært så lojal hele tiden! Lois har vært så fantastisk, ikke forlanget noe, og snudde seg ikke en gang da han stod rett bak henne.

Men ai - Max Lord var med! Og denne mystiske "Red Queen"-personen viste seg så vidt. Jeg mistenker at det er Martha... Og Lois og Clark er arbeidsløse nå! Håper Perry (som snart dukker opp igjen) kan ha noe med å gjøre at de får jobben tilbake.
